Many thanks to the hostess and wait staff of this lovely establishment for going above and beyond to accommodate the needs of 2 older, handicapped women in our group. The seating arrangements were perfect! Although the menu is somewhat limited, we all found something we really liked. The Maryland Crab Soup was a meal in itself....filled with crab meat and veggies. The crab cakes were outstanding! Thank you for a very enjoyable evening!
I was really hoping this place would be good. Sadly that was not true. If you want stuck up, condescending children to serve you bad drinks, go here. If you want quality service and food, even a trash can would be better.
Loved it! Great food. Great service! And a fallen soldiers tribute. I'd go back more often if I wasn't so far away!
It was a disappointing dinner at the Booth House Tavern in Old New Castle. This was my first time here and my first impression. I had already reviewed the menu online before I arrived and was going to order rack of lamb, Asparagus and spinach risotto with bread pudding. When I sat down the waiter gave me a menu that had salads, burgers and tavern fare and explained there was a limited menu as there was a problem with one the refrigerators and they had to throw a lot of food out. Would have been nice to be notified when the reservation was accepted. All I got of my expectations was the Asparagus and bread pudding. I ordered a gin and tonic with Tanguery. Was told they were out of Tanguery. I ordered the salmon with garlic mash and Asparagus. The other choice was steak. The salmon and rest of food was delicious. I did get bread pudding and coffee for dessert. I was disappointed with the bread pudding. It was cold and certainly not soft. The waiter service was okay. I understand there was live music in another room but wasn't given an option to be in that room. Another couple that came in walked out. I didn't but.......
We ate lunch at the Tavern, second floor. On the positive side, the books were a nice touch. The service was good, but not great. My wife tried to order the beet salad and was told it wasn't available. Oddly enough, a patron at a nearby table was able to order the beet salad about 15 minutes later. My wife had the beef tenderloin burger which was large but less tasty than the average Five Guys burger. The fries were barely above room temperature. I had the salmon burger which was a bit heavy on the onion. My fries were not hot either. For the price point, the food simply was not well executed.
Excellent dining experience! There is a cozy dining room, but we ate outside on their nice patio. The food was delicious and the staff ensured that my wife's food allergies (gluten, onion, garlic) could be accommodated. One of the coolest things is the in-restaurant hydroponics room where they grow their own microgreens. Glad to see this historic location revived so well!
We were invited to a birthday dinner / celebration that was hosted outside on their beautiful patio, there was about 27 people that attended and from the moment we walked in the hostess was kind and very friendly, the bartenders and the servers were extremely nice and took great care of us, the drinks were great the food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was calming and relaxing but also a great time!! Mia the Director of Operations & Hospitality came out and introduced herself to us and was very friendly and welcoming, I can’t believe we didn’t visit sooner!! We highly recommend this place for either a romantic night out, or for a good happy hour as well as if your looking to host an event. The location & setting is beautiful and very friendly…. If I could give more then 5 stars I would…
August 2021I just stopped for coffee while out on a bike ride, so I can't comment on the restaurant. Quaint little place with decent coffee and a few treats. I tried the biscotti and it was really delicious. The iced coffee was good and prices are reasonable. Glad a coffee place is finally open in this area.
Firstly, the service was outstanding! Secondly, the best burger I think I have ever had anywhere! Not sure it should be called a burger. Outstanding and cooked to perfection. Can't wait to visit again!
Extremely disappointed! The service was absolutely horrible at best.Friendly sounding server, but our table was completely forgotten about with zero check-ins after our food was served.. I waited over an hour for a salad on an evening that wasn’t crowded. The bartender from the inside of the restaurant was our server for the back patio of the restaurant (??). There was no hostess and there was a sign explaining to be seated by the bartender, after patiently waiting to be acknowledged for a while upon entering the restaurant. My main dish was served about an hour and a half into the evening (Cajun shrimp).Other outdoor waiters were serving other sporadic tables completely engaged in the service with other customers except our table.Another disturbance, the staffing took trashcan after trashcan out during our meal time and were banging extremely loud bottles over and over and it was so loud that we couldn’t even have a conversation.I had to stop other waiters two different times, one to receive my salad after an hour and the other time I literally had to get up out of my seat and hand my bank card to a different waiter to pay the tab (because I wasn’t waiting any longer for them to ‘bring me’ the tab).I’m a realtor in the community who likes to frequent here, especially with new clients, I’m debating whether to return.Good food, beautiful outdoor/ cozy atmosphere, but completely bad experience. I never leave Google reviews, I literally logged onto the restaurant’s wifi because it was so bad.I always still tip well because workers are supporting their families, but it was definitely not deserved this evening.

New spot for me to check out….welp. The crab corn chowder was basically corn chowder. The fish bites were salmon that wasn’t really deep fried but like dusted with no seasoning….Bestie ordered the bread pudding with cinnamon ice cream NOW that was BAGGING GOOD. Crab sandwich was about a 7/10. The food needs some spices and more creativity. Nice seating and clean establishment.
My first time here based on my son's recommendation. I got the tenderloin burger-hands down the best! Our server was exceptional. I will be returning.
Went with two other couples for dinner on Sunday evening. Our server was friendly, attentive but not overly hovering. We had reservations and were shown to an upstairs room that ended up being only us. Very nice and relaxing to have the room to ourselves. Love the authenticity of the older building. For our entrees, one person had the salmon over risotto with a side salad, one person had the prime rib, and the rest of us had the 6 oz. filet with scalloped potatoes and asparagus. Everyone cleaned their plates and commented that their dinner was delicious. The scalloped potatoes were not a traditional dish but a large chunk of potato with cheesy sauce and topping. Absolutely delicious! For five of us the bill was $240ish before tip. That included some alcoholic drinks and coffees. Worth every penny. Will definitely return.
Great atmosphere for a romantic night out. Nice drink menus.
Absolutely amazing!!!! I attended a wine tasting and pairing at the BHT and it was one of the best ever. The wines were great and all paired perfectly by Chef. We ended up staying for dinner as well and it to was incredible. The ambiance was awesome and the food even better. I urge you to give this a try. You will love it!!!!
