Stopped here toward the end of a long drive from Connecticut to Maryland ; looking for a local historic type place; this met the bill, and although they were packed, we were able to sit at the bar, where we were served by the bar tender John. He was extremely helpful, made great suggestions and went out of his way to accommodate our requests. The food was great and very reasonably priced. It was definitely worth the drive off of the Interstate; it was a terrific experience.
My family and myself at there on 12-14-25. I had the Lobster Mac and Cheese. However, thete was NO lobster to be found only mushy imitation crab meat, gross. The food was not creamy like she told me it would be. Very dry. We also got the Chicken pot pie. They have changed the way they cook that too. There is no pie crust on the bottom like there used to be. Not as much meat. I am extremely surprised and disgusted in my and my family members food this evening. I am a business where I stand up to a standard of what I do. I know all too well about being honest and pleasant customer relations.
This was our second time here. We have absolutely loved both visits. I usually wait to give a review until I’ve been to an establishment more than once. This is no joke. You know it’s good when the locals are present. Ok enough so it doesn’t get too busy and we can’t get in next time !

Amazing food, worth the price. The service was 15/10. And I loved that there was real candles on the table!

Was impressed by the good. Very good sized portions & time-period inspired fare. The history was apparent however the space was cramped, tight. The purest in me appreciates that in colonial times this was as it would be… Drafty, tight, a little dim. Would have loved if staff was wearing historically accurate garb. Service was OK, however at times seemed rushed.

Im in town for this week and decided to check out Jessop's after it was recommended to me to try.
The atmosphere was great, both the waitress and hostess were super friendly and welcoming. The waitress had great recommendations for food and drinks. The decor was super cool as well and very fitting for the area. Im not sure how often I will be in the area but if I ever come back, this will definitely be a place I go back to!

My wife and I went for the first time while visiting from Ohio. We loved the atmosphere and the food. The beer selection is spectacular. I cannot recommend the lingonberry ice cream enough, that stuff is amazing.
Different from any one place. Very active bar area. What we choose to eat was excellent. First time there. Will definitely go back.

When there is a table in main room available and they sit you on back next to the bright noisy coolers… it is NOT appreciated

I can’t believe how much we enjoyed our meals here. I loved the Colonial ambience and the food was absolutely incredible with prices that don’t break the bank. The steak and ale pot pie was a delightful surprise, and the pot roast was just as wonderful. The meat was juicy and tender and everything was fresh and bursting with flavor. The beer selection is impressive and the whiskey sour was prepared perfectly. We’ll definitely be back to try another dish and save room for the bread pudding.
