This place has become our favorite restaurant when we visit Bethany Beach. Went last month for our anniversary and really enjoyed ourselves. Fabulous food, great staff and good atmosphere. The only downside is that parking can be a challenging.

Skip this place food was bland and unseasoned. Chicken was a frozen piece of chicken rubbery. Salmon was very unfavorful. Only good note was steak.. Save you money better places to eat. Think this is frozen fish and chicken not fresh.

We were disappointed by our meal here because the reviews were, on the whole, very good. We arrived on time and were seated right away. I ordered a drink which was not very tasty but was heavy on the alcohol. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. Unfortunately, they seemed to be out of several things (it was Sunday evening). After about an hour of waiting for any food (and the restaurant was not particularly crowded), they brought our entrees. Apparently, they forgot about our appetizer. They were very apologetic. When we tasted the food, it was a solid B. It was also very confusing that the paella had a BBQ chicken breast on it to the point where I thought maybe it was an apology for forgetting the appetizer, but from others' photos it seems like that's how they do it. The crabcakes were fine but nothing to write home about.
On the whole, it was an expensive meal for not great food. Looking over others' reviews, it does seem like many have eaten well there so maybe this was an off night. We did enjoy the ambience and kind servers.

Overall excellent quality food. The onion soup is the best I've ever had. I order onion soup in a restaurant any time there is the opportunity. I've had the salmon and cashew encrusted entrees. Both were top quality. The crab cakes are superb. Full of meat with no fillers with a flavoring that make them amazingly delicious. It's a small setting. Dining room seats about 40 with an outdoor seating area of several more tables. Excellent service staff.

Nice place and really pretty good food but for an expensive and small boutique restaurant (by Bethany Beach area standards) they really screwed up by bringing our main course right after our appetizer arrived. This should not have happened and the waitress (Mary) was so nice I didn’t want to hurt her feelings or make a scene. It really adversely impacted our experience and makes us question whether we will go back or recommend it to our friends and neighbors.

Hidden gem! We have dined here several times and the food is consistently excellent and the service is delightful — everyone is lovely. The halibut is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had in my life so much so that I begged the chef* to give me the recipe for the sauce but it’s a secret (I dream of it in between visits). *if you’re reading this I bow to you

Cedar Land & Sea Kitchen is the best kept secret in the Eastern Shore. The bar is also fantastic.
Small place but the food and service were very good. Friendly staff.

We had a big famjly&friends (12 people) dinner at Cedar to celebrate my son’s college graduation & first apartment. It was the absolute best! Really why go anywhere else? We always choose Cedar because of the food, service & friendly atmosphere. We are always made to feel at home! We ordered paella, duck, pork tenderloin,& various seafood dishes. They make the best salmon at Cedar. We had a nice variety of appetizers & we all had desserts. We had 2 servers who didn’t miss a beat in making sure
everyone got what they wanted & they waited on other diners at the same time. They were very efficient, knowledgable& friendly. Everyone enjoyed their meals & we all agreed it was a really wonderful evening. As far as cocktails go, people wait in line for the bar to open & the seats fill up quickly. The chef& head bartender are the owners & they have the experience to make everything magical. Clearly, I cant say enough good things about this hidden gem in Ocean View

Went to Cedar land and sea and did not enjoy the food. We were seated at our 6 oclock appointment on time. Waitress was very friendly. We started off with a appetizer that was very good. All down hill after that. I order the tuna med rare and when it came out it was med rare. The tuna and rice and vegetables were cold. The waitress came over and I told her about my food and she sent it back. The meal came back hot but the tuna was well done. My wife's dinner came and the vegetables and potatoes were cold. The topping on the Chesapeake chicken was not worth eating. The filling was mayo based with no crab meat and melted cheese on top. Talked to front of the house and waitress and they appolized about our meals and did not make any attempt to reduce the bill. Would NEVER go back
Very good dinner for 4. Reservations are a definite. Very close to where we stay and have never tried. The atmosphere and service was excellent, just wish the wine glass had a little bit more. This is a excellent place for a date.
We had our ladies monthly luncheon at Cedar today. From our 2 lovely servers to the kind owners it was a delicious and pleasant experience. I ordered the French Onion Soup and the Cesar salad with Jamaican Chicken.
Our recent family dinner at Cedar Land + Sea Kitchen in Ocean View, Delaware was phenomenal. From the moment we entered, we were greeted by warm hospitality and a welcoming coastal vibe. By the end of the evening, we all agreed this was a five-star experience from start to finish.
Exceptional Food & Drinks
The menu features a great variety of land and sea options. I kicked things off with a Cucumber Cosmo, recommended by our server, Mary. It was crisp, cool, and perfectly balanced—an excellent way to begin the meal. Next came the French Onion Soup, which my dad and I both ordered. Each spoonful was a revelation: rich broth, plenty of caramelized onions, and that melted cheese blanket on top. It’s easily one of the best French Onion soups we’ve ever had.
My mom’s starter was the Arugula, Beet, and Goat Cheese salad. The flavors balanced beautifully: earthy beets, peppery greens, and tangy goat cheese, all united by a house-made vinaigrette. This dish demonstrated how Cedar pays close attention to fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation.
For our main course, my dad and I shared the Paella. Served in a hot skillet, it was stacked high with seafood and meats—shrimp, scallops, mussels, crab, chicken, and chorizo. The saffron rice soaked up all the delicious juices, while the chorizo added a pleasant smoky note. We loved the lively mix of flavors and textures, and it was a generously sized dish.
My mom’s choice, the Stuffed Portabella Mushroom, was a vegetarian triumph. The roasted mushroom cap was loaded with a sweet potato and black bean filling, drizzled with a savory tahini sauce. Even as meat-lovers, we found it richly satisfying—proving that Cedar knows how to please every palate.
We were consistently impressed by the quality and presentation of each dish. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and carefully crafted. The French Onion Soup and Stuffed Portabella are now household favorites.
Cozy Coastal Ambiance
Cedar Land + Sea Kitchen has a warm, inviting interior that perfectly suits its coastal location. The décor is charming—clean, bright, and subtly nautical. We found it easy to settle in and enjoy our food, and despite the lively atmosphere, we could converse comfortably. It felt wonderfully welcoming, which made our visit all the more enjoyable.
Top-Notch Service
The service was outstanding. Mary, our server, was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. She regularly checked on us, refilled drinks without prompting, and ensured our meal flowed seamlessly. Her menu suggestions were excellent and showcased the pride Cedar’s team takes in their offerings. We never felt rushed, and the pacing was spot-on.
Already Planning Our Next Visit

Although we were too full to sample dessert, we’re already looking forward to trying their sweet treats next time around. This restaurant is a true gem in Ocean View, Delaware.
