Came with the whole family and every one of us enjoyed our meal. French fries were the best any of us had had in a long time! Simple food, done well in a wonderful, historical tavern. Well done, Cantwell's!
We had a party of 6 for a work lunch. The building is in historic Odessa and preserved with lots of artwork and historical facts on the walls. Service was wonderful and the food was amazing! They have daily specials. Will be back again for sure.

Came in for an early dinner Sunday night. Arrived around 4:00pm. Was seated promptly. Waiter brought water to the table and every water glass had lots of floaters in it. Returned it and got new glasses that were also dirty. Chesapeake flatbread was really good. Portobello burger didn’t have much flavor but was very greasy. My grandmother got the Swiss burger, she said it was cooked well (med rare) but was still dry. I got the seasonal salad and added shrimp. $8 for 4 shrimp honestly does not sit right with me. Also, the server was rushing us. He even said “ I’m rushing you guys I’m sorry” lol won’t be back

The meal was decent up until dessert. I got the crème brûlée. It was in a shallow ramekin and there was only a skim of crème brûlée in the bottom, barely anything for $12. Totally ridiculous. I was told by the server it was the traditional and it was clearly lemon and blueberry. The peanut butter bottom was very good and the crab cake was decent.

The pictures speak for themselves. $10 for French onion soup. 6 croutons and fake cheese. Was craving it so bad on this cold night. Barely 3 bites lmao

Love the staff, food and drinks.
Cute from the inside and out. Warm atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. We had the apple board, roasted chicken salad and berry salad. All was delicious. Highly recommend.
Very quiet area. A little history, this building used to be an old hotel. They have bar seating upstairs and downstairs available. There is only 1 bathroom upstairs and it has a urinal and toilet. I am unsure of anu bathrooms upstairs. We enjoyed the old fashioneds we had in the bar area as well as a beer flight. They have a rotating beer list. The bar stools had no backs but we did enjoy the bar area. They also offered specials in the bar. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was good. My chicken sandwich was a bit dry and I thought the menu said it has coleslaw on it but there was none with it. The French onion soup had good flavor but it was loaded with croutons and little onions found.

We've eaten there before but this time was not acceptable. Three of us had the crabcake sandwich. It came with Cole slaw, but the Cole slaw was on the crabcake in the bun. Since the crabcake had no seasoning, all we tasted was slaw. The buns were not fresh and were more like a bargain burger joint than an upscale restaurant. None of us were happy. When we were seated there were very few customers in the place and none in our room. It still took us ten minutes to receive our uncomplicated drinks. The place filled up, on a Wednesday night, and there is no sound deadening. The noise from the next room overpowered our ability to talk to each other. It may have just been a bad night but the overall impression was not up to par.
Cool historical building. We had a lovely lunch. Service was wonderful, our server went out of her way to made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and lots of interesting choices.

Great food and raw bar offerings. Many worthwhile specials throughout the week except Saturday, that are worth checking out. We split the "3 lbs. Baby Back Ribs". They were incredible and tender. We still took some home. Their Lobster Bisque is fantastic. Our service was very courteous but was inconsistent on her attempts to get our drink orders (4 of us) accurate. We were seated on the second floor, but there is an elevator "if you ask".
This was me and my boyfriends first time dining here and it was great. We ordered the Jerk Mahi Mahi and the Beef Brisket. We also got their Key Lime pie to go for desert and it was amazing. My boyfriend also ordered the apple pie martini and he said it was delicious as well. Also our server Yana was great!

Update to my review! I had once given a review NOT on Cantwell Inn's service or food quality but base on a policy decision they made as a business. That was wrong of me so I stand corrected with a review strictly based on what it should have been from the start, the service and food.
I went there for a brunch a while ago and had gotten some French toast. It was excellent, the staff was friendly and the time in which we went we had no wait the seating was conformable and spaced generously. Our bill wasn't hateful it was what we expected and worth every penny!
