Excellent! For both the sophisticated and kid-like palates; great salsa, the chimichanga was just delicious, and the chipotle chicken was sabroso!

Authentic but very underwhelming. The steak, beef tongue, and chicken taco needs more flavor. Put some Goya, Adobe, anything... Also 5 seconds on grill would help to crisp up the tortillas. The meat falls through... As you enter the building there's a visible mouse trap in the walkway. Also a old refrigerator, cobwebs, thick layers of dust, and just overall dingy on the outside heading in. It will take 20 minutes to clean that walkway. Please do it!

Good food, very south of the border atmosphere.

We usually come here and tip handsomely. We usually have gathering, but last time it was 3 of us. A family after us got their food first. Even other people were complaining how long the food took. They weren't wrong. And now our circle has pretty much the same experience. Food took over an hour and they kept saying it's going to be a little bit. They are mostly goofing around and laughing, not caring how long the wait is and there's a lot of customers waiting. Then, the food... not even hot. Cold!!! You lost a great deal of us and we order from your truck as well. We won't have you guys out on our festivities. I hope maybe in the future, you will find people who can actually run this place like how it was before.

I enjoyed the food; the grill chicken was nice and juicy. The beef fajita was mouth watering with the spicy sauce, and for drinks a salted margarita was just excellent. The business name has changed to "El Primo" and I will visit again. Thank you Joselin for the service.

They were short on cooks, so we were there 2 hrs. But the cold beer & great food made up for it.

We were served rotten food. The refried beans came out luke warm and sour or fermented tasting. Ordered fajitas that had veggies that tasted rotten. Never again.

While I previously added the pics of carnitas from the new ownership much has changed. My husband and I frequent the establishment and every visit the service and food has declined. Tonight the waitress was more interested in socializing then accommodating the guests. My steak quesadilla had minimal steak and cheese to the point it didn't even stick together. Out of the 5 pieces only three had steak. My husband ordered two tacos with a side of rice and beans. The rice and beans came out and not the tacos. It took 10 extra minutes to get two tacos of which the waitress knew she was missing. We asked for the bill three times and we're ignored until we my husband went to the bar and told them we were leaving. This is super disappointing to us because it was one of our favorite places. It's time for Manuel to come back.

Terrible food, terrible service, not clean, and no ac on our last visit. Once a great restaurant. No longer under Manuel's ownership.

Had a super friendly server named Melanie take care of my Wife and I on our visit. We were able to carry some brief conversation with her and it was refreshing; if you come here - ask for Melanie! The food - 4/5 stars. for the money the food here I'd rate as priced as expected being around ~$14 per adult for most meals. And the taste is awesome. Some small touches that made it feel more authentic to me was the fresh chopped cilantro leaves in the salsa to give it a better flavor and not give the feeling like it just gets dumped out of a bottle of pre-made salsa. Also the Guacamole was very tasty and appeared/tasted like it was made in-house as well - still had small lumps of avocado in it like i prefer! As the attached pictures show: I have the steak fajita which came out audibly sizzling and could be heard from the bar over to the far side of the restaurant where we were seated; lots of onion/green peppers/sliced tomatos were included, the guacamole i raved about, beans, shredded cheese, sour cream, & 3 tortillas. Highly recommend if you're very hungry as its a lot of food. The decor - 4/5 stars. Lots of bright colored flags and decorations on the ceiling, walls are painted in different bright colors and textured, lots of smaller knick-knacks like bright colored birds in the hanging plants make it feel alive and cheerful inside. The upkeep - 3/5 stars. At the time my wife and I went to the restaurant it was the end of the business day for them so it was understandable to have some "wear" on things like some missed spots on the table. The only thing that was annoying in the cleanliness dept for my wife and I was the group of flies that followed our food out.Final thoughts: due to the awesome service (thanks again to Melanie), the price being reasonable, the key dishes I enjoy at restaurant's in this category (salsa and guacamole!), and overall atmosphere we'll definitely be coming back. ?

We have been going to the cactus for at least 15 years. Never had a bad meal or experience. Since they changed people running it this the 2nd time coming and sadly will be our last . We don't mind change but this is not for the best. Food is all different, ordered the steak fajitas and there was no sizzle which is the best part. Staff is over work and everything took forever. Miss the friendly atmosphere. ?
