The food was so good and fresh!! They aren't busy seeing as they are a new spot here in Selbyville. The hostess/server was helpful in making suggestions due to them being out of a few protein items. Self serve bottled drinks with a very good selection of Mexican sodas and Coke products.
This spot is worth giving a try. Mondays are $1 Taco Night as well

We went here on a recommendation from our AirBNB host and it was a very pretty spot. This restaurant is a part of the hotel and it was much nicer than what you usually find in Monteverde. I had the mahi mahi with some vegetable purée, but it was disappointing. The fish was over cooked and the purée was bitter. The shocker was when we got the bill and they charged $35 US for 2 vodka sodas! I was going to pay and not say anything, but the manager came around and asked about our meal. I told her about my disappointing fish entree and she graciously took it off our bill. She did not have any explanation as to how 2 simple drinks could be that much, especially when you looked at their specialty cocktail menu and none of them were over $15. Once again, she offered to take it off the bill, but we had already paid and I was starting to feel like jerk for pointing out the disappointing nature of our experience. It was also very busy and there seemed to be only one waiter for the entire restaurant (Adan), so we didn’t see him after we got our food, which meant I had to get up and find him when we ran out of drinks and water halfway through our meal. Once again, beautiful place with a great menu, but the overall feeling was one of disappointment.

My husband and I came here for dinner during our first night in Monteverde. We were excited for the beautiful atmosphere, and we ordered a round of drinks which were prompt and lovely. Unfortunately, our waitress, Carla, turned out to be the worst in our recent and not so recent experience. After ordering entrees (we were not hungry enough for appetizers) over 30 minutes went by without food. At that point, Carla came by and slapped down two dessert menus. After a minute of confusion we reminded her, our waitress, that we had never received our dinner. At this point… she literally shrugged, took the dessert menus and walked away, never to return. Another ten minutes went by and I had to track her down to ask again, if/when we were to receive our dinner. A few minutes later, it was delivered by a different waitress. Naturally, when it was time to pay, Carla reappeared at lightning speed to take my credit card. In CR, 10% gratuity is added to your check automatically. We wish we could have given zero. The food was decent, not excellent, and the service atrocious. We will not return.

This was an expensive, ordinary meal in a pretty setting. Local fish served on cauliflower purée was underseasoned; the purée was a nondescript sludge. Friend’s tortellini was attractively plated with onion crisps but quite a small portion. Entrees were approximately $30 each.

This is a lovely restaurant, very formal and beautiful ambience. I got the pesto fettuccine with wild mushrooms and was very much pleased, the service was great and the food was delicious. The only issue was timing of the service, my sisters dish was out and finished about twenty minutes before the rest of my family’s.

Belmar is at the top end of all accommodation in Monteverde. Really smart hotel, super restaurant and spectacular location, at the top of the mountain. Stay in the main hotel but get a room that looks out onto the garden and valley below. If you don’t stay then go for breakfast, which is popular and sit on the balcony looking out as the birds fly by. Great food. Don’t pay for the rooms with their own hot tubs. The extra cost is not worth it, as the bedrooms in the main hotel have lovely baths you can sit in and enjoy the view. Also the more expensive rooms are bizarrely in what was the original hotel across the road, but the walls are thin, as are the doors and you don’t have the view nor the vibe. Whether you are a guest or visitor if in Monteverde go to the craft beer “pub” in the garden below the hotel. Super beer and food for anyone who is feeling a little homesick

We came here for my wife’s birthday and though the service wasn’t the friendliest (they weren’t bad though), the food (and views) was magnificent. We started with drinks, Tico tonic and pellizco I believe they were called. Both great. Then we ordered the cheese plate which came with roasted vegetable on the side - we’ve ordered loads of cheese plates over the years. This one was probably the most fun we could remember. I should mention when I made reservations, I mentioned we were vegetarian and the person who responded said it wasn’t a problem. And it wasn’t. At all. They have so much to offer vegetarians and vegans. Anyroad, we also got the curry de vegetales which was also brilliant. Overall a lovely experience. Ps go for sunset and it’ll be even more memorable.

The food and drinks are absolutely amazing . I would come to monteverde and Celajes just for that ! The food is made with organic fresh ingredients mostly grown here. They have signature drinks . The coffee they serve is delicious !

We were looking for a place that had good, craft beers. Eventually someone recommended Celajes as they have their own microbrewery. We were thrilled to have found this beautiful spot! It’s nestled into a valley allowing you to enjoy the sunset, across the forest canopy, from their balcony. The wait staff was professional and demur until we shared our personal interests and then they were more than happy to reciprocate. The beer was enjoyable, our chosen appetizers were yummy, the price was reasonable, and the ambiance made for the perfect ending of a wonderful day. We highly recommend a visit to Celajes at Hotel Belmar.

We were staying at the hotel and so ate here breakfast and dinner two nights. Each meal was a wonderful as the last; HTHC food was not always exotic but it was great-tasting and you can tell they take the farm-to- table aspect seriously. they have their tables socially distanced so at some meals they were sold out. View from outdoor deck is stunning; can see gulf of Nicoya and Nicoya peninsula in the morning and dramatic clouds apes and thunderstorms in the evening.

Fabulous sunset dinner on outdoor patio. The food and service were some of the best we’ve had in all of Costa Rica. We arrived at 5:30, before sunset to have a drink and enjoy the great panoramic views. The sunset and the dynamic colors in the sky remained for 45 minutes, while we ate a delicious high-quality meal of some of the most professionally prepared and delivered food during our entire two week trip. It was my wife’s birthday and they provided a free dessert with a lit candle. We were very happy and I sincerely recommend Celejes to any serious foodies in the area.

We had a wonderful dinner, well presented, great flavors and presentation. (Cheese platter followed by Vegetarian Curry and Pork with Tamarind Sauce... all highly recommended). Service is just OK. Staff was friendly, but not very attentive. Had to look for them a number of times during our meal to get attention.

We had a lovely table on the Verandah. The food was fresh and beautifully presented however not particularly flavorsome. We had a chocolate pudding which was very difficult to eat with only a spoon and not as special as it sounded. Very attentive staff though service probably too quick.
