Stopped by for a late lunch with my three brothers. Excellent chicken salad, Philly cheese steak and turkey club.
Have only been there for lunch but the restaurant is always high on my list when in the area.

Great atmosphere. Food wasn’t great. Hot roast beef gravy didn’t look like beef gravy and had no taste. Fried shrimp tasted a little fishy. Appetizers and entrees came out at the same time. Waitress was meh 🫤. There was 3 of us for lunch and the bill was $81 🤯

We were waiting a long time after ordering for our meals
I order liver dinner it came out burn the top looked good but bury with gravy after I started to eat it I noticed the bottom was black- burnt. That made it like leather. I would have send it back but the waitress but couldn’t be found until I was almost done. Then I came out of the men’s bathroom looking in the kitchen door window and I see this lady taking plates of food then she pulled some meat off the plate with her hands and ate it then she did it again total 3 times went out and told the waitress

One of the better family owned restaraunts in the area. Easy phone in orders if there's any issues they always make it right the staff are the nicest u can find just about anywhere the prices are slightly higher but worth it for the service. One of our favorite fill ups on the way to the beaches.

My wife and I stopped here on our way back to Wilmington NC for a mid-day driving break. We found a friendly place with great food! Our server Rhiannon helped us select our meals and was very attentive! This gave us the energy to keep on going. My wife had the spaghetti with meat sauce and a great salad while I had the liver and onions and a real treat of Turnip Greens!

We live locally but this was our first visit. Service was slow but friendly. Food was mediocre and that's being generous. We each had a cup of cream of crab soup and it left much to be desired. Overly thick and pasty with little crab and flavor. I ordered the 12 lb bacon cheeseburger medium with lettuce, tomato and mayo. What I got was a small frozen meat patty on a roll with lettuce and tomato-no cheese, bacon or mayo. Sent it back and they added a slice of cheese but nothing else. My wife ordered a grilled cheese w/bacon sandwich and what she got was a very skimpy portion short of both cheese and bacon. We each had a coke with a refill and the bill, with tip, came to nearly $60. I like and will support local business and maybe caught them on a bad night but based on my experience will not be going back

First of all to be fair, I love diners. I've been coming to Doyle's for years and so obviously I like it there. It has an old time theme with music from the 50's and 60's. With that, I get the feeling of being a kid again also having the choice of the round stools at the counter on one side or a nice sitting table in the dining room. The staff is always pleasant and attentive. The menu has all the basics no matter the time or meal and reasonably priced.
