Been wanting to try this place for a couple of years. Finally got there and by far, the best crab cake I have ever had. Wish it was open year round.Love the atmosphere and decor! Swamp juice was good as well and our server was great!
Went on a Saturday night and it was busy. Since we've never been there before, you're supposed to wait to be seated and they don't acknowledge you until they are ready to seat you. A local told us that's how they do it. After about 15-20 minutes, we were finally seated. Waitress said they were short staffed, out of steaks and ran out of cole slaw before we were served. Wife had the crab cake which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had Fisherman's platter. Wife asked about the cole slaw and the waitress said she would substitute with hush puppies. Never came back until we were finished. They did knock a couple bucks off the bill. Would have been 5 stars had there been some type of acknowledgement while we were just standing there.

By far the best restaurant in Delaware. And we have been to alot of them.We pigged out. We ordered mozzarella sticks and loaded crabby fries to start. Then 1 dozen little neck claims, the fisherman's platter and pig out entree, coffee and iced tea and our bill was only $107. I could not believe it. Amazing restaurant. The food was prepared to perfection and the waitress was amazing.

Friends visited us from Maryland on August 31, 2023. We all love steamed crabs but we haven't had them yet this year, so we decided to try Boon Docks Restaurant in Smyrna, Delaware, because of the good reviews, and because it was close to home.When we arrived, the hostess greeted us with kindness and a friendly smile. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is huge inside, and there was neat stuff to see everywhere you looked, from signs to wooden ducks to boats, etc. All the decor on the walls, ceilings, shelves, etc., was awesome!!! Very nice place for shore...lol!My husband and I now have a favorite "GO TO" place for steamed crabs!We started out by ordering steamed shrimp and 3 bowls of "1/2 White 1/2 Red" soup, which is something my husband and I had never heard of before. Our waitress, Michelle A., described it as a combination of one-half red crab soup with one-half cream of crab. Three of us ordered it, and all three said it was DELICIOUS!!! The steamed shrimp were also delicious, and then we ended up with two dozen steamed crabs with extra old bay seasoning. We started with only one dozen, but we all enjoyed them so much that we ordered another dozen. All were devoured in no time!!! They were steamed and seasoned to perfection. They were also full, and the crab meat was so tender that it melted in your mouth. They were the best crabs we had in a long time, so we will definitely be back for more with our families and friends!!!Now, last but not least, our Waitress, Michelle A., was wonderful, and she was very down to earth as well. I have a hand tremor and am a slow poke at picking crabs. Michelle A. told us about a video she watched about an easier way to get to the lumps of crab meat. She started the crab for me, and we were all fascinated by it, so THANKS, Michelle A., for making my crab picking days so much easier... it worked great!!! My husband bought one of their tee shirts as we were leaving. THANK YOU MICHELLE A., and the rest of the staff for being so nice and for making our first dining experience at the Boon Docks Restaurant a very enjoyable, fun, and memorable one!!!WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOON DOCKS RESTAURANT IN SMYRNA, DELAWARE!!! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!
