Took German family and they said it was the best food in the states! Will definitely come back.

Olle's Restaurant was such an incredible find during our quick stop to this part of FL. Our first time trying German food and it was so good, I found myself saying "mhm" after every bite! The resturant is run by a husband and wife, the wife was so kind and attentive and we left very happy with our visit. Pilsner beer was good!

Went on the last day of the season. Nice place. Very friendly. The food portions are huge but it's so delicious I tried to eat all of it! I had the schnitzel with spaetzle. Tasted just like what I've eaten in Germany.

Olles was recommended to us several years ago for a place to get a really good steak. But, it is so much more! We have tried almost everything on the menu and honestly it is ALL delicious. Olle is a superb chef and Riina makes you feel like family. Reservations are needed since its just Riina waiting tables and they want to ensure everyone has a great dining experience. We highly recommend giving them a try you will not be disappointed.

Save your time, gas, and effort. Sadly this is the only German restaurant in the area now that we know about. You are forced to make reservations and they cannot be made on the same day which you wish to dine. This is not because they are busy but because they won’t hire additional staff and they do not wish to have many customers at any given time. If you are late for your reservation they will refuse to seat or serve you claiming you will “put them behind”. They told this to my family and I (we were 15 minutes late due to traffic) and they only had 2 tables seated (a couple and a party of three at the other table for a total of 5 guests at 4:45pm). The hostess began to lecture me that we should’ve called and left a message but I have never had them answer a phone call just an answering machine. Since we have been dining here (we average over $125 every time we done) the service and food quality has been slowly declining but like I stated before this is the only German restaurant in the immediate area. This is the last time we will travel over an hour to be rudely refused to be seated and served.

Olle’s Restaurant on Compass Lake isa wonderful place to eat. Everything is prefect. The view of the lake, the food, the soft music and great service. If you plan to go you need to call to make a reservation. You will love the experience.

Made a reservation for 1. Owner contacted me to make sure it was correct, I stated yes. I get to the restaurant and the owner says I didn't confirm my reservation and that it's unusual to have a party of 1. I said it's just me and I did confirm and had the email to show her. She had many tables open and I asked to sit by the window area to look outside and she said no. She made me feel unwelcome and was not polite. So I ordered the jagerschnitzel and the spatzell. The food was Not good. It was burnt and had no flavor. She said it was burnt because the cook wants to make sure the meat is cooked. I've had this many times at other german restaurants in Chicago and it was never burnt and the meat was always cooked. The spatzell was flavorless. I spent an entire 30 minutes there, since I felt unwelcome. Bad service and bad food. I will not go back.

We were directed here by my son in law for his birthday dinner. He had heard good things and I am happy to say it was well worth the trip.To start this appears to be a family operation and it shows in the food. I have had many offerings that are labeled German food but I tell you this is the real deal. Our dining party had everything from a pretzel appetizer to the homemade cheesecake and everything we had was great.I had the schnitzel and it was pounded thin and fried just so, not greasy or salty, my wife had a stuffed chicken schnitzel and the mushrooms and gravy was out of this world. We were all so excited to eat that I forgot to get enough pictures. I will remedy that next trip. This was a great experience and everyone in our party was happy with what they got, which is a first I tell ya.There is definitely nothing around here like this so make sure you give it a try. Just remember reservations are highly recommended as this is a small operation, but you won't be disappointed!

We had brats, grilled schnitzel, chicken schnitzel, fried shrimp, potato-leek soup, and pelmenis. Everything was great. Service was friendly & courteous. Will definitely be back.

Olle's is truly a local gem, it's a favorite of our neighbors so we all went together for the first time. Yes you do need to make a reservation because it's literally the husband as the chef and the wife as the waitress and no one else but the service and food were still 5 stars. I ordered the pork schnitzel with the German potato salad side and I was blown away. I've never had either before and I'll be ordering that again. The schnitzel was the size of my face. The restaurant itself is dated and nothing special but it was clean, and personally the food is what matters over atmosphere. Kinda makes it charming. Definitely recommend and will be going back!
