The tacos have always been fresh and delicious. The sauces really make the tacos better than most places.

If it were possible to give a zero-star rating, I would. The food is not only overpriced but also looks like the person who made it simply gave up halfway through. I usually don’t write reviews, but this place needs to be mentioned. Don’t waste your money and time here. No one from the staff to the managers seems to care about this place. Why should you? Especially since their other location has been shut down due to rat infestations.

Guessing this was a food truck that went brick and mortar.

Today is the third time in the last 6 orders that the staff has forgotten at least two of our items. When we call the manager Ty offers a mediocre apology, immediately blames it on door dash and has us drive all the way up there to get the missing items. When I get there he’s too much of a coward to offer an apology in person. Runs and hides and has one of the poor girls hand me the rest of our order.

As someone who has been a loyal fan of Jimmy Hula’s for years, I’m deeply disappointed and disturbed by a recent experience at the Altamonte Springs location.
My sister clearly informed the staff that she has a severe allergy to avocados, and yet her order was still served with avocados. When she pointed this out to the server, she witnessed the cook simply remove the avocados from the dish—rather than remaking the order completely.
This is more than a careless mistake. This could have caused a serious medical emergency. Food allergies are not a minor inconvenience—they are life-threatening for many people. To see the situation handled with such disregard for basic food safety and customer well-being is beyond frustrating.
This experience has completely shattered the trust I had in this location. No guest should ever have to question whether their safety is being taken seriously when dining out. Sadly, after this incident, I no longer feel comfortable eating at or recommending Jimmy Hula’s, especially this location.

Restaurantji Recommends
Tried Jimmy Hula’s for the first time after driving by it for years. The atmosphere was very chill, the young lady that took my order was very patient and friendly. The wait wasn’t bad at all. The fish and chicken tacos were average (I’d give them a 6.5) the Mojo fries were a bit tangy for my taste but palatable. I would recommend it if you’re looking for a casual vibe and better than average tacos 6️⃣ out of 🔟
Pretty good for fast food
Gave this place one more try by ordering the Jimichurri Bowl. Big disappointment. Literally like 8 pieces of steak. I wish I can attach a photo here. I thought Chipotle was bad. Oh well! Never again.
My wife and I decided to try a new restaurant we hadn’t been to before. Unfortunately, we quickly realized it would be our first and last visit.
We arrived before the lunch rush when only three tables were occupied. We waited at the register and were soon greeted by Hostess #1, who appeared a bit out of it—possibly under the influence—but she was polite and explained the ordering process. We stepped aside to look over the menu and then returned to the register, where Hostess #1 was unavailable, so Hostess #2 assisted us.
Hostess #2 was not friendly and seemed disinterested in providing basic customer service. She spoke so quietly we had to lean in just to hear her. After placing our order, we seated ourselves. My wife immediately asked if I also noticed how unapproachable and disengaged Hostess #2 seemed. We chose to stay positive—after all, everyone has off days, and having worked in the food industry myself, I try to be understanding.
We placed a fairly simple order: I had tacos with an additional to-go item, and my wife ordered a burrito with a side of fries. The food arrived fairly quickly. Hostess #1 brought out my tacos first, then returned with my wife’s burrito and fries. As she placed the fries on the table, she spilled some and casually said, “Oops, my bad,” then walked away. She made no effort to clean up or offer to replace the spilled fries. We were taken aback by the lack of care.
We decided to give the food a fair shot. My fish taco was decent, though the shrimp taco was overly salty. My wife found the shrimp in her burrito undercooked and not to her liking. While we were eating, we noticed our drinks still hadn’t arrived—even though the restaurant wasn’t busy and two hostesses were working. About 10 minutes later, Hostess #2 finally brought them over, placing them down without a single word before walking off.
To top it off, just a few minutes later, I accidentally knocked over my drink, spilling it all over myself and the floor. As my wife and I cleaned up the mess ourselves, not one staff member offered to help or even acknowledged the situation.
In summary, the service was disappointing across the board. The lack of attentiveness, professionalism, and basic courtesy made for a frustrating experience. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues and ensures their staff is trained to meet the minimum standards of hospitality. We won’t be returning.
