My food was great and ambience very nice. Unfortunately the bartender serving me didn’t quite understand the term service.
Painfully slow and apathetic.. I had to request everything Menu- the bill -left my card out and said bill was fine and she still was awkward.

I had brunch yesterday and it was fantastic! Our server, Tyler, made the whole experience even better. He was friendly, attentive, and really knew the menu. He recommended the eggs benedict, and it was *chefs kiss*. . I’ll definitely be back for more and will be asking for him next time!

The Citizen is an amazing culinary experience. So good, it is the only place we visited twice when we were in the area. Andrea was amazing at the bar and was very knowledgeable of the food and drink and we enjoyed interacting with her when we were sitting at the bar. I wish I would have taken more pictures, but the oysters I had there were the best I had during the entire visit to the area.

An absolutely fabulous meal and top notch service. I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed ourselves - the cocktails were incredible, the atmosphere was gorgeous (lighting is so important!), the service was attentive & warm, and there was not one dish that wasn’t jaw-dropping delicious - truly our favorite meal of our whole trip to the 30A. Pricey, but appropriately so considering the quality. Try the goat cheese cheesecake!

I’ve had great experiences at this restaurant before, but unfortunately this visit was a big disappointment.
We were told by the host the wait would be about 30 minutes, so we went next door for a quick drink — only to get a call that our table was ready much sooner. Half of our group rushed back to grab the table while the rest of us wrapped up our drinks. When we arrived, the host and manager told us we’d need to be finished by 8 p.m., which would have been important to know before sitting down. We still had plenty of time before then, but both the host and manager made it seem like we were inconveniencing them from the start.
Our first server was great — kind, helpful, and attentive. When we asked if we had enough time for apps and entrees, he didn’t seem to know about any time limit and was completely accommodating. Shortly after, the manager returned and offered to move us outside so we wouldn’t feel rushed. One of our group members said, “Oh, that would be great — we’ll get out of your hair in here,” to which the manager replied, “You’ll still be in my hair.” It was just unnecessarily rude and awkward.
Once we moved outside, our new server was noticeably less friendly and seemed irritated to have our table. The first server even came by to check that we were settled, which was very kind of him. We ordered several appetizers, rounds of drinks, and entrees, but the vibe remained uncomfortable.
The drinks is where things really went downhill. The bride ordered a dirty martini, and it was bad. Everyone at the table took a sip just to be sure, and we all agreed, not good at all. We asked for another, thinking maybe it was just off, but the second was just as bad. Maybe a rough night for the bartender, but on a Friday night, that’s not a great sign. Later, we ordered espresso martinis (which we probably should’ve known better than to do after the martini situation), but wow... they were even worse. Easily the worst espresso martinis any of us had ever had.
To top it off, the drink pricing was strange — cocktails like Negronis and martinis were charged as separate ingredient line items instead of a single drink price, which made no sense. We ended up paying around $26/cocktail, which feels a bit steep for standard items.
It was a bummer of a night, especially since we were celebrating a bachelorette and had all looked forward to a fun dinner. We were kind and well behaved, and there were many other bachelorettes around us, seemingly having no issues with service or drinks. The lack of hospitality from the host and manager really set the tone. Hopefully this was just an off night, but the service made it hard to enjoy what’s usually a great spot.

Great experience - Alabama oysters are on happy hour, smaller ones but super tender. People are nice, drinks are good, it just vibes right. Super nice place, definitely one to make on my come back again list.

Bartender was not friendly. Food was ok. What I ordered, chicken dish , was not hot. Food was just ok. My husband was happy with his food. Please ask the bartender to be more accommodating and customer friendly.

No one will answer me or respond to my request for a reservation of 9 people. I’ve called and left voicemails and no response. I dm on Instagram and they said a manager would call and no manager. Someone in my party has emailed no assistance whatsoever!
