Marcus was an amazing server! The fried fish and soup was very good. Definitely recommend coming here for a nice lunch/brunch.

Had oysters and immediately had the worst food poisoning and pain I’ve ever experienced. DO NOT HAVE THE OYSTERS, not worth the chance.

For appetizers the crab beignets. For dinner the filet, short ribs , or the pork schnitzel.

We are at the bar Friday, February 9th. My husband had oysters. He got so violently ill from food poisoning that lasted almost 24 hours. My husband tried to contact the restaurant to tell them what happened and ask for a refund and they have yet to respond. We also hear of an another couple getting food poisoning the day before we dines at Citizen.

Had a great dinner at The Citizen while visiting Alys Beach in January for a business trip. The space and host team were welcoming and we were seated quickly. Our server, Lee, was very friendly, professional, and prompt. Our waters were frequently refilled and all team members were polite and friendly. We tried the east coast oysters, which were very good and well presented. I tried the squid ink bucatini with shrimp, which was good. My colleague tried the curried butternut squash with chicken and she said it was delicious and the chicken was well prepared. I would highly recommend this spot for an excellent meal and experience.

Excellent food and drinks in Alys Beach. Service was excellent. Our fish sandwich and salad at lunch were just fantastic.Very pet friendly on the patio too!Update: The happy hour between 2-5 is excellent. They have some reduced price drinks and a very limited food menu. But what they put out then is still excellent.

We stopped in here for late afternoon cocktails and appetizers this week just taking a chance--wow! We were all so impressed with the quality of the creative appetizers- all were delicious- especially the Calabrian shrimp and feta dip selections --- but what was even more impressive was the attentive staff- The manager Langdon and our server Jason were top notch- extremely professional and accommodating to our demanding group! We have recommended to all we have come into contact with during our visit and look forward to returning again! Thank you!

During a weekend holiday with family we had dinner at The Citizen, I ordered the Coq au Vin and it was delicious. Service was on point by our server and the manager checked on us a couple of times too.

Great restaurant. High End. Pricey… but worth it for a treat/date.

The best oyster accompaniments I’ve ever had and I eat an inordinate amount of oysters. The Calabrian shrimp is amazing as well. Will make the trip back from Texas just for this place.

Nothing at the Citizen is ordinary. From the craft drinks, entrees, all the way down to the waffle fries, it all has a unique quality touch. Wonderful Brunch menu. The service is also extraordinary. As usual, Roshawn provided us great service and is very knowledgeable of the menu and drinks. Great place to stop for a drink or a meal. We love this place!

On a recent trip to Alys Beach, I had the pleasure of dining at their restaurant, The Citizen, and it immediately shot to the top of my 30A favorites list. From the first taste of the freshly shucked local oysters to the final delightful bite of seared scallops, everything about the meal dazzled me. The seafood shines with an expert preparation that accentuates the fresh catch flavors. But beyond the impeccable cuisine, the cocktail menu also impressed with beautifully balanced, innovative options that perfectly complemented the food. The chic, airy interior provides a refined yet relaxed backdrop for the dining experience. And the staff delivered welcoming hospitality that made the evening even more memorable. For its standout Gulf-to-table dishes, elegant atmosphere and attentive service, The Citizen at Alys Beach deserves 5 stars. I can't wait to return on my next 30A visit!

Came here because I love the design and knew the food would fit the bill as well. Ordered the avocado salad with Arugala, wild mushrooms and hazelnut, Rock Shrimp Salad and a side of grits....The grits were out of this world delicious. The chef was kind enough to share that there was a proprietary blend of cheeses and cream. For dessert, was the Chilton Peach Cobbler (Chef's kiss) Enough said! Service was very friendly and attentive. Thank you Citizen, Albert & others.
