My husband and I had dinner there this evening. We both ordered the whole flounder. This comes fried, with 2 sides. When we were served, my flounder looked different than my husbands flounder. He traded mine for his. He said from the moment he started eating it that it didn't seem correct, but he didn't want to complain because we were celebrating a special anniversary and he doesn't usually complain at restaurants. My flounder was good and I shared mine with him, so he really noticed the difference. He got to the point where he couldn't eat anymore because he didn't feel comfortable with the quality of how it was prepared and honestly, he wasn't happy. We called the waitress over and she said she would send the manager to our table. The manager arrived quickly and after my husband explained his thoughts about the dinner, she said she would compensate him half off the price because he had eaten half of the meal, which was true. When we got the check, she charged the full amount for his dinner and said "You et half" and that was her answer. What really bothers us, is the lack of caring that a new customer made a legitimate complaint and it was basically ignored. I normally try to give businesses good reviews, but this situation needs to be shared. I would welcome a comment from this business regarding how this matter was handled.

Awesome food great location and open late. Large parking lot and a great view. Came here several times with large groups and they always seemed to accommodate. I highly recommend trying this place. Never did get my Mac N cheese and took 30 min to get a sweet tea and it had no ice when it arrived.It was kind of busy.

This was the best meal we had all week. The price was more than reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. The atmosphere at the river is great and we met with a charter captain outside of the restaurant as recommended by the staff to discuss a fishing trip.
Half shell was the only location that didn’t shut down @9pm. So we gave it a whirl. Absolutely did not disappoint. Atmosphere was awesome, live band, wait staff were on point and the owner himself was out and about speaking w customers, checking on them and even cleaned our table after our appetizers. He checked on us multiple times. Locals and out of towners had a blast. Ohhhh yeah!!!!! The food was Amazing!!!!!

We had an absolute blast!! Food was amazing! Atmosphere nice! Management even came and spoke to us personally!! And held a convo didn’t jsut ask if it was good! AND we didn’t have to wait 2 hours at 7pm w a party of 14 (we were staying on St. George everything was 2 hours or about to close) oysters were amazing!! My mom and my son shared a plate of the Rockefeller ones SOOOO GOOD!!! And the grouper 😍😭 & my fiancés steak was amazing!!! (He’s allergic to shellfish! ) 🤣🤣🤣

Really fun spot that gets local approval. Check out the separate dive bar behind the restaurant. Super cool. Off the beaten path, but not very far from downtown Apalachicola. Walkable. Barely.

Great service for our group of 17. Friendly & efficient. The whole fish was a hit across the table: really good and beautifully prepared. Don’t skip the banana pudding cheesecake—it’s just as amazing as it sounds.

The best oysters around! They found us a table quickly in a beautiful location. However, I have never been to a place that won’t let you share your meal with other people. We all get meals, but always try each other’s plates. We were reminded that if we did, we would all be charged $7. Then they told my mom that she couldn’t order a grilled cheese (she doesn’t normally eat heavy stuff in public and always gets something light) because she wasn’t a kid. She ended up ordering soup to get the grilled cheese. When her soup came, it was spilled into the saucer the bowl was sitting on. Instead of just bringing a new one, they just took the plate from the saucer bowl.
