El Charro Mexican Restaurant

I rode my motorcycle from Englewood to Arcadia just to try their Tacos, and it was well worth it. I got Carne Asada Tacos. The meat was seared to perfection smd what made it even better was there salsa bar, where you can go up and dress your owm tacos. Thr green chile was great but my favorite was the red salsa, hottest one they had. I also ordered a side of rice, which was flavorful soft and fluffy. They had alot of kitchen staff to ensure their food is fresh. I loved how they arranged bottled beverages next to the order counter like how gas stations display their drinks. All in all it was a great experience and most importantly, the Tacos are authentic and tasty.

I ordered the vegetarian fajitas, and they were nothing short of phenomenal. The portion was generous—easily enough for two—and every bite was packed with fresh, expertly seasoned vegetables. It’s worth noting that the homemade teas and drinks come in large glasses, but refills aren’t free—something to be aware of, though the serving size more than makes up for it.

The only minor critique is the atmosphere, which might feel a bit rustic to some American diners unfamiliar with culturally immersive settings. The decor and layout reflect a heavy Latino influence, which might come off as modest or unconventional. That said, it’s part of the charm and authenticity that makes El Charo stand out.

Overall, El Charo is a must-visit for anyone craving sumptuous, real-deal Mexican cuisine. Highly recommended for both the food and the experience.

Wonder what the others are like. Not nearly as good as Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte.

Confusing. I guess you need to be a regular. They want you to order from pictures on wall, no idea what it will cost or what you will get. Drinks are seperate, self serve from cooler. Had to stand in line twice to check out. Only 1 person speaks English as best as I could figure. Pretty expensive, as well. Lunch for 2 was $38!

If you want to savor authentic Mexican cuisine, then you need to eat at El Charro. Our meal was delicious and fulfilled my craving for south of the border flavors. I’m now a steady patron.
