Such a great find! Extremely small hole-in-the-wall type place. I’d recommend making reservations. Phenomenal service. Kaitlyn was so helpful, attentive, and really went the extra mile. Order from the menu and fresh catch menu on chalkboard on the wall. Hush puppies and wasabi slaw were great, but shrimp were the best! Highly recommend!!!
Everything I ever wanted in a restaurant. Great menu, food, wine list, atmosphere, service, value, and friendly clientele. So good I almost don’t even want anyone else to know about it.
We had heard from friends how great this place was. We each ordered the Goofy Foot, one with Maui Maui/shrimp (grilled) the other with grouper/shrimp (grilled). Sides were corn on the cob, twice baked potato, onion straws and wasabi cole slaw. Everything was so over cooked it was tough and dry. Very salty! Onion straws were basically all breading. Will NEVER eat here again. Be warned, It’s changed owners or something, the quality is gone !!!
One of the best fish and chips I have had and was reasonably priced and $15. I have eaten here a couple of times and not disappointed. Will be back!
Way overpriced and not fresh fish. Grease used for frying needed changing days ago. Do not recommend as there way of filling up your plate is a lot of potatoes that are sub standard. Will not be back.
Just had the absolutely worst crab cakes i have ever had. Seems that they cannot get an order correct either. Just a bad experience all around. Theres got to be a good seafood restaurant around here.
We have been loyal customers for several years and the seafood has always been fresh. On our last visit, I ordered my usual fried shrimp and sadly the flavor was so strong I couldn’t eat them. I brought it to the attention of the server and he talked to the cook. The cooks response? The taste of the shrimp from Mayport varies. If it varies so much that it becomes inedible, then it would have been nice to be offered an alternative or a refund. We will be looking for a new seafood restaurant.
Lady was rude. The guy was extremely nice though. Good food. Would have ranked higher had the woman not been so... Rude...
Specifically wanted to dine in a non-chain restaurant and ordered online for pick up. I was charged more than DOUBLE the amount for fish and chips from the $13 price listed online! I showed the price online to what I thought was a manager and was told the website was out of date. When I asked what they could do for me to correct this, I was told they could update the website for me! They said they could take it off the bill but I couldn’t take the food. No offer to make any accommodations for the overcharge.. so disappointed in a business run this way. Be careful ordering online at this location!

Cozy little seafood cafe with a bar and big screen TV. Don't be fooled by the little strip mall location with a tattoo parlor...this place does seafood very well. Menu is creative - not just your run on the mill seafood platters. Whatever fresh catch is available is written on a big chalkboard. Feels like the kind of homey place locals go to for a glass of wine and dinner. Friendly casual service. And the food...one of the best fried grouper sandwiches ever. Everything we ordered piping hot, flavorful, and cooked well.
I have to say it was delicious!! The grouper was amazing. The hush puppies were the best and the mango slaw was the best. Make sure and visit this place
Been there twice.Once when they first opened.Food was good but small portions.service was acceptable .Went last night to celebrate my birthday and it was awful.Got there just after 6,and I would say there were about12-15 people there.looked about 30 percent of capacity.Server appeared a few minutes later, took our drink order and off she went.Returned with the drinks in a reasonable time then took our food order.Ordered two appetizers and 4 meals. 15 minutes go by.Nothing.Server never returned to indicate any issues.30 minutes into it, still nothing. My friend went to look into it.She was told that there were only 2 servers and no managers there. Finally, around 7 our server came to the table and apologized citing the lack of employees. She did get us more drinks then told us one of the appetizers we had ordered nearly an hour before was not available. Now it's around 7:15.I wanted to be out of there by then to watch NFL draft.I decided we would just get the meals to go because now it's pushing 7:30. Waited around 15 more minutes watching our server bring food to the outside tables that were empty when we arrived. Also to inside tables that were empty when we arrived.I saw that and told the girl to just ring up the drinks and one appetizer and to cancel the meals.About an hour and a half.Told them it was my birthday and thought they would at least give me one drink on the house for the service.Nothing.Don't anticipate this place surviving with this level of service. If you don't have proper staffing, keep the doors locked.Luckily I DID make it home in time for the draft. But I was hungry.:)Also both mens and womens bathrooms were unkempt .Soap dispensers not mounted and just leaning against the wall. Don't mind leaving my name and email if anyone would like to contact me. Greg Lavin, [email protected]
Abuelas Latin food is amazing! Definitely give this place a try!
The fish, fried shrimp, and the sides plus an appetizer were very good. Some of the best shrimp I have had in a long time. 3 of us had wine and the staff llet is sample the different ones they had and then we ordered. One person only had water because he doesn't drink. There were several other couples too and we saw several Togo orders being picked up. Very attentive to one of us who has allergies at making sure the food they ordered was ok. Love supporting small businesses.
