Driving back roads from The Keys to Orlando. Searched Google Maps for breakfast and found this. Pictures are cute and the restaurant is elegantly decorated, grits were the best I've ever had. However, the surrounding area did not match the elegance. Prices were higher than expected. $4 for a Sprite (same as Disney prices) 3 pancakes, bacon, sausage, and an adult meal was $53!

The portions were so small and the potatoes tasted like they came right out the freezer with no seasoning. $8 for 2 cups of coffee that tasted like dirty water. I was highly disappointed and left still hungry after paying $60 for 2 people. If I could 0 stars I would!!

Omelette and home fries- bland
Biscuits and gravy-bland
The brunch items may have been prepared with more seasoning however I was on a time crunch so I ordered quick breakfast staples. I was hoping the home fries would have been made in-house but they were premade.
A true diamond in the rough. The food was tasty, the service was awesome. Great experience.
We wanted to love this place! Drove from Ft. Lauderdale to try it. It was warm in the restaurant like the A/C wasn't on at some points. They were out of grits, jumbo shrimp, and oxtails before 11am. Very disappointing! The young ladies who served us were nice & did their best. The food we did get was tasty, but not having so many items, plus sweating bullets, wasn't a great experience. Probably wouldn't go back.
Great little Gem of a restaurant.
Very good breakfast. Staff is extremely nice.
Quiet Atmosphere.
This place has great food & amazing service. We were in town visiting & will definitely come back next time we are here.
The staff gives the environment a good vibe. The food is pretty basic. They offer things that you don't get everywhere that could be considered cultural specific or soul food.
Restaurantji Recommends

Don’t come after 12pm. Anytime my husband and I have in after 12pm it’s always an issue of actually consistent working hours. Their business hours are supposedly from 7am-3pm, we came in at 2pm and were told they were no longer taking in customers. Most people normally wait till about half hour before they close to stop taking in new customers. Please make sure to fix your hours if you aren’t consistently open for what is posted on Google and on your door. Thanks.
No complaints but definitely need more staff on site to attend to customers in a more timely fashion.

The new banyan tree is great. The hostess/waitress does an awesome job. She's a super hard worker. Very very grateful for their customers. So glad they opened back up. The best soul food around. Old Florida food and Belle Glade staple.
