As they say first impressions are everything. Our first experience was sub par overall. We were greeted by Lisa F. behind the bar today She Seemed very attentive. Took our order, food came out quickly, Food was just ok, maybe a 3 . We were finishing up during shift change. This is where things went south. We wanted our second beer, never happened, Sam totally ignored our empty bottles, plus the lady waiting next to us. Sam was only interested in the new.Customers ( Hers) Refused also to cash us out. Lisa was busy closing our never mentioned to her customer could she cash us out, however we still tipped her. Sam continued to ignore only her obviously locals. Find another job Sam you are not helping the growth for the business

I don’t leave bad reviews, I know the business well, and understand that on any given day, there will be hiccups of some kind, however, I really wanted to like this place.. and the servers/bartenders are fantastic. The kitchen doesn’t know what they’re doing, and ownership seems to be okay with that which is a bigger concern.. I’ve been here twice and learned, they only know how to cook burgers to hockey puck status, and their chicken tenders should be called chicken slithers, they were as skinny as my pinky finger.. when I’m new to an area, I start with the basics. If an establishment executes the small things well, it’s a good sign to try their higher end offerings, but not doing the small things well… always a bad sign.. don’t come here for the food, unless you are in dire need of nourishment. Do come for the friendly service, drinks and entertainment..

Food is mediocre to poor in quality and preparation. Servers are nice, but stressed because of poor management. Service is EXTREMELY slow. Management was rude. Not worth the wait.

Lisa the bar tender is awesome.
Quick with a drink and friendly.
The food comes out of the kitchen hot or cold as expected. A rare treat in the industry today.
There is always room for improvement that’s why not 5 stars across the board.
Great local place to go and get to meet some locals.

My family and I decided to give this local place a try last night. At first there were only three of us however we quickly realized we needed a larger table as other family members decided to join. I then decided I would go up to the three ladies working there and asked one of them if we could get a bigger table as there was one available that we saw but wanted to assure that it was alright to use. Before I could get my entire question out without even looking up the waitress said she would take care of it in a minute and had a very irritated attitude with me. I would also like to state that this woman was our waitress and seemed to have an attitude from the start as when my family and I ordered I had originally said I wanted potato salad however what I meant to say was potatoes and when I changed it she seemed like I was inconveniencing her. After waiting for 5 minutes with my family that was standing with a baby at our table waiting to be sat we then just moved to the other table because it seemed that the waitress had forgotten or was busy. Not too long after sitting at the new table the waitress finally came over and was not happy that we had moved stating that the table was not cleaned after we said that we cleaned it we were met with attitude stating the person that cleaned it did not work there. This made for an extremely awkward dinner and outing. If it was not for the great band my family and I would have left from the start. The band and the many people that were dancing and saying how much they loved the band is what made the night. Even after having a not great experience with the one waitress as the rest of the staff seemed friendly we ordered over $100 in food. When we were ready to pay one member of our party went to ask for the check but was hesitant in doing so to not irritate our waitress. The entire interaction with the waitress the entire night was very awkward as you should not be afraid to ask for a refill of your drink in fear that it would irritate someone even though it is their job that they a choosing to do. (I would like to state that I am going through chemotherapy and I have problems with my mind so that is why I messed up by saying potato salad so for her to give me attitude was a bit embarrassing as it was not a secret that I am a chemo patient as I had on a chemo cap.) it takes a lot for me to get out of the house especially since it took me an hour to get there so my night out starting out rocky with the waitress was not what I expected however I stayed polite and calm as that is the kind of person I am. The food was good however the waitress that we had named Monica could be more friendly and welcoming.

Anyone who knows ME, professionally, business, friendship then knows I have been in hundreds of estJennifer Lee and Nevaeh Peekth Jennifer Lee and Nevaeh Peek. I have for years now focused on career and Family. ( Unless personal favor to sing these days) I am also still very much advocating for live (PROFESSIONAL) local musicians and venues alike. I’ve never in all of my years left anything negative in public forum even in some not so great business locations. Before making this awareness I was hoping to resolve the issue verbally reached out by message as well as phone, and the owner was there when I called then when asked who calling “oh she just left “ The avoidance of accountability for paying customers is abhorrent to those who wish to spend their free time and support your local establishment. Before these new owners I felt welcomed and everyone was so friendly. Those days are gone. I will warn of the discomfort you will feel by just wanting an Ice Tea. I watched this with customer after customer. You should be ashamed of how you treat people that support your livelihood. If you are a musician, make sure you get written agreement as by the end of the evening they may or may not decide to pay you as well.
The food is great once you’ve had to beg for menu and to order and then made to feel so inadequate and small for “bothering them”

Managers… OWNERS, you are responsible to set the “Bar” of standards for your employees. I was hoping it was just one bad apple, as now know, It begins and ends with the people in the background leading their behaviors.

To the cooks, Thank you for YOUR services, I watched you all work very hard with togetherness.

As to Monica, the manager on duty, That I still tipped out over 20 percent , if you could possibly be so gracious to give that to the person who prepared my meal.

Rate ZERO Monica and all the other servers on the floor who blatantly avoided kindness.

Attached is the message I sent the owner and public ownership as of Florida Sunbiz current. ***

Good evening . I pulled up Sunbiz to find your information. First off I have always loved the establishment of Papa Willies and promote as I am state worker literally down the road from your establishment. I rarely get to go out often due to busy schedule. I did tonight however . And in literally all of my 51 years on this earth have I ever been so disgusted by your staffs behavior and just flat out rudeness to everyone I saw direct contact with. I asked Monica after waiting for at least 30 minutes why I have not been asked for anything or even acknowledge my existence, no menu offered no drink nothing until I had to walk up front and ask, she deflected my question and then I said okay maybe off night. I ordered . Then spoke more with friends someone else came to table to bring food for other friend I asked if I could get some wings to go and box for mine I didn’t eat . Monica never returned . I then walked up and waited and young lady there literally didn’t acknowledge me ever. Someone finally did and I asked if my server is also a cook I did not understand. I would love to explain this by phone . This can’t not be your livelihood and this be acceptable? And I still Tipped her over 20 percent!

The food is consistently good here, and the service and attitudes of the wait staff are just as consistently awful. Our final visit was last night, when table service was non-existent and an argument occurred at the bar when they refused to pay their entertainment. There are many great brand-new choices for dining in the area, Papa Willie’s needs to clean house if they wish to stay relevant.

Waited 20 minutes to be greeted by someone (it wasn’t busy) only to be sat and wait another 15 for a server to show up. 10 more minutes for bottled beer, we left. The waitress was extremely rude. We watched 2 other tables do the same
