Alleycat is such a hidden gem. The two executive chefs Eric Baker and David Bouhadana are constantly evolving the menu with new dishes and amazing specials.

The Sushi is by far the freshest in Boca Raton as they fly in fresh giant tuna multiple times per month. Their new sushi platter options, are an amazing deal and great for sharing with friends, family, or just your partner.

Alleycat is the sister restaurant to Sunset Sushi which offers an amazing Omakase in the next room,

One of the things, my wife and I love most about Alleycat is that it caters to all taste preferences. Whether you’re going out to dinner with another couple, that’s a vegetarian or if you want cooked Japanese hot plates and your partner wants fresh sushi, there is something for everyone.

Beware!
Unprofessional Manager runs this place like a dictator. I witnessed him degrade employees who have much more people skills and experience then him. It was so strange to experience someone disrespecting hard working, kind people right in front of my eyes.
As a long time customer and a local I think that is not right. Nobody has to be a bully.

Had our House Plan reunion there last night and it could not have been better.
The restaurant is comfortable the staff was friendly, patient and very knowledgeable.
But the star of the evening was the food.
Everything was delicious , especially the Miso Glazed Ribs and the Chicken.
We will certainly be coming back in the near future

Recommended dishes: Miso Ribs, Teriyaki Chicken

Great place. I do miss the rebel house (that was prev here) and I did feel a little disappointed in my second visit here. Wasabi cesar is delish, ribs you could eat toothless, but the roll was just OK, and had a strange aftertaste (for like $36 or something crazy). Vibe feels a little.. how do I put this… try hard asian??

Let me know your thoughts. Can’t decide if I’ll be back.

I've been wanting to come to AlleyCat for quite some time now and mostly because of their handrolls. Not a lot of Japanese restaurants around our area offer that. I came in on a Tuesday night and to my surprise they discontinued it. I had just peeped the menu online before making the drive and it's still posted there sigh.

Well I went ahead and tried something else. The snow crab tacos and the salmon nigiri tasting. My partner had the wagyu dumplings and the surf and turf roll. The snow crab tacos were stuffed with meat which was great - filling. Unfortunately, it was dry and didn't have sauce / taste. As for the salmon nigiri tasting - I received 4 pieces. I had to ask the server what was what because it was brought to me with no description. After he explained each, he realized two were the same or one was just plain. He went back to the sushi chef who made it and offered to spruce it up for me. I asked for ikura to go on top and they granted my wish. The wagyu dumplings were thick and only ok to me. The surf and turf roll was probably the best thing that hit our table. I would order that again.

Other than that, we had exceptional service here. I thought the prices on the menu were a bit high but overall it was an okay experience.

I’ve had sushi here before, I’m not sure if they changed the chef. The food is awful. They struggled making basic sushi like a spicy tuna role. At the best you can call it a Asian place not a sushi place.

Nicely decorated; a little loud; good, professional service; mostly solidly ok food.

It’s not -bad-. The people in the kitchen know how to cook competently, but the menu is largely ill-conceived. Everything we tried was sooo sweet.

Star of the night was the pastrami sando. It’s probably the only thing I’d order again. The miso eggplant was pretty good but very sweet. Crab fried rice was too wet and sweet and had some undercooked grains. It was almost more like shoddily done crab dirty rice than fried rice.

The biggest disappointment of the night was the truffle teriyaki chicken, but mostly Im disappointed in myself for ordering it. Drawn in by the allure of truffles only to realize that I should have predicted all the ways this dish would be bad. The teriyaki sauce just blends with the soubise so that’s all it tastes like. The chicken was itself not teriyaki flavored at all, and the truffle was faint to the point of it being a waste of money.

All in all the prices are too high here for the quality of the menu for the most part. If you do get dragged here, go for the pastrami sando.

For the true sushi/sashimi officianados: The omakase experience held here on select Tuesdays in their back room speakeasyeske area is truly one not to missed.

New phone, not great photos. But chef Eric and David have created a little bit of paradise for those of us who appreciate true omakase.

Go see for yourself.

Great restaurant and everything on the menu is terrific. Chef Eric came over and helped us through a variety of allergies. The attention and service was top notch. If it were closer, I'd go every week at a minimum.
