Loved the unique sushi dishes! Honestly, a lot of their menu is super unique! Also had a great drink menu as well with unique concoctions!

Had a fantastic dinner at AlleyCat. The 12-piece nigiri was excellent, the tuna especially stood out for its freshness and quality. The yellowtail yuzu roll was light and refreshing, and the wagyu dumplings were delicious too. We finished with the carrot cake, which was a perfect sweet ending. Loved the vibe and atmosphere, inviting yet lively, and the service was friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing ambience & sashimi!!

The Sushi was great, but pretty pricy. We spent over $250 on just two people. Their drinks are phenomenal for sure. The server was great. We got their desert and was suggested to get the Capybara shaped chocolate fudge, this was horrible and ruined our whole experience there. $30 desert too. Didn't even eat the thing. We would appreciate getting credited for it.

AlleyCat Izakaya is loud, lively, and definitely trying to be a good time… but if you’re coming here expecting a top-tier sushi experience, you might walk out a little confused (and mildly disappointed).

Let’s start with what worked. The spicy tuna crispy rice was the best thing on the table! Crunchy, spicy, flavorful… basically a one-bite wonder.

The wasabi Caesar salad? Weirdly incredible. Creamy, bold, a little sharp. Who knew Caesar dressing needed wasabi?

The Yaki beef noodles were solid too; hearty and flavorful with a comforting depth.

But the sushi rolls? Just okay. Nothing memorable. For a place that reads ā€œJapaneseā€ in concept, it leans way more toward izakaya-style dishes than actual standout sushi. And maybe that’s the point.

The issue is when you hear this is from the same chef behind Sunset Sushi and Sushi by Bou, you expect more. This didn’t hit the same way. As the kids say it… it was mid.

The vibe is fun if you like a buzzy room with a lot going on. Indoors is loud and high-energy. Outdoors is calmer and good for conversation. The staff was great, and the parking in the back is a nice plus.

But all in, it’s a 3-star experience. Not bad, but not somewhere I’d rush back to. If you’re going for a vibe and some decent plates, cool. But if you’re chasing great sushi? This probably isn’t your spot.

Alleycat is such a hidden gem. The two executive chefs Eric Baker and David Bouhadana are constantly evolving the menu with new dishes and amazing specials.

The Sushi is by far the freshest in Boca Raton as they fly in fresh giant tuna multiple times per month. Their new sushi platter options, are an amazing deal and great for sharing with friends, family, or just your partner.

Alleycat is the sister restaurant to Sunset Sushi which offers an amazing Omakase in the next room,

One of the things, my wife and I love most about Alleycat is that it caters to all taste preferences. Whether you’re going out to dinner with another couple, that’s a vegetarian or if you want cooked Japanese hot plates and your partner wants fresh sushi, there is something for everyone.

Beware!
Unprofessional Manager runs this place like a dictator. I witnessed him degrade employees who have much more people skills and experience then him. It was so strange to experience someone disrespecting hard working, kind people right in front of my eyes.
As a long time customer and a local I think that is not right. Nobody has to be a bully.

Had our House Plan reunion there last night and it could not have been better.
The restaurant is comfortable the staff was friendly, patient and very knowledgeable.
But the star of the evening was the food.
Everything was delicious , especially the Miso Glazed Ribs and the Chicken.
We will certainly be coming back in the near future

Recommended dishes: Miso Ribs, Teriyaki Chicken

Great place. I do miss the rebel house (that was prev here) and I did feel a little disappointed in my second visit here. Wasabi cesar is delish, ribs you could eat toothless, but the roll was just OK, and had a strange aftertaste (for like $36 or something crazy). Vibe feels a little.. how do I put this… try hard asian??

Let me know your thoughts. Can’t decide if I’ll be back.
