Another Broken Egg Cafe

Yesterday, I found a dead roach in my omelette and I’m still in shock. I’m a breastfeeding mother and almost swallowed it (see pictures). The restaurant had just failed a health inspection in August for roaches but were allowed to reopen the following day. According to this article, there were roaches and roach eggs everywhere that the GM told his employees to simply wipe away: I asked the general manager of the restaurant to please be honest with me about whether he had seen roaches in the kitchen and his response was “not recently.” The director of operations (Joffre Rodriguez) called me claiming to be sorry for my experience but he seemed disingenuous to say the least. He said that they would remain operational as he was “sure that they no longer had a roach problem” to which I said “then can you please explain the one I almost swallowed today?” He said no, that he could not explain why I had a dead roach in my omellette. They have a roach infestation in the kitchen but refuse to close in order to adequately treat the issue. They don’t want to lose profits by closings, but are compromising the health and wellness of the public.

We visited this morning while on vacation. Our entire experience was excellent! Carla was FANTASTIC…so kind and helpful. The food was top notch. Highly recommend!!

We ordered the cinnamon roll French toast and the apple French toast, both were excellent! Our waitress Carla, was so sweet and very helpful. This will definitely be a place that we revisit.

Carla was the most incredible waitress I think I’ve ever had. I’ve never felt more comfortable at a restaurant, she was so kind, welcoming, and sweet. The food was also delicious, I had the Louisiana Benedict and it was awesome. I’ve been here before and had an okay experience, but this time was so memorable thanks to Carla. Thank you!
