I love this place! I've had the Leo, Western and Greek omelettes and all were perfect. The bagels are the best I've had since leaving New York. Go!
Big shout out to waitress Marion. Great server.

Let’s talk about a total scam. I ordered a pound of tuna salad, and egg salad. When you get it home, all the containers are not completely full and on top of it they don’t weigh what they’re supposed to weigh. When you look at the tag of what you’re paying it’s the same price and same .50 weight on all four containers. You can’t take thirty seconds to actually weigh each container and provide an accurate tag? That’s the last time I order appetizers from them.

The food is average to above average (I guess depending on who is cooking that day), but the prices here are OBSCENE! $4.50 for a 12 oz. CAN OF SODA !?!?!? The soda is just an example, but everything is over-priced, so be prepared to drastically overspend.

I live in the New York Metropolitan area and I visited Boca Raton for the last couple of days. This morning, before flying back to NY, my partner and I decided to call an order for two multigrain bagels, one with white fish salad and the other one with lox and a slice of tomato, and NOTHING ELSE.
On the way to West Palm Beach Airport, we drove to Flakowitz in old Boca Raton and when my partner went to pick up the order, he was told that the total tab was $35.20. THIRTY-FIVE DOLLARS AND 20 CENTS!!!. When he came back to the car and told me I couldn't believe it. I questioned why he didn't refuse to pay such an exorbitant amount and told them to keep it. Not even in New York this order would have cost that much. Sorry but this was a rip-off! None of the bagel sandwiches were over-stuffed or exceptional in any way.
Here are the photos of what we purchased, as well as the purchase receipt, to show that we are not exaggerating. Consider also that my partner paid cash. Otherwise, the total tab would have been 3% more, or $36.25!
This is a clear example of how restaurants went from victims during the pandemic to the greedy villains they are in the present time. Damned!!!

Hostess, old woman, not friendly. Place half full at 9am on saturday, and told me I could not have a booth. Later two single parties were given just that.
Service is bad, considering the number of employees hanging around doing nothing.
Had corned beef hash and eggs. Eggs were great, tomato slices fresh. Bagel was over toasted and corned beef seemed more like a paste (I hate to say it, but like vomit).
As a jew who wears the Star of David and as a person whk eats breakfast out daily, I would NOT recommend this place.
I did not feel welcome.

Classic NYC diner experience in Boca Raton. So many delicious brunch selections. For two
Breakfast sandwiches and coffee, i am not sure why it was $29+, but i like them.

I’ve only eaten inside once in e last year. It was crowded. Noisy, boisterous. And the waitstaff could not be more aggressive than they were. It seemed like almost everyone around me loved this vibe. Frankly, I did not, especially being on top of the tables around me and the real overweight guy in the booth adjacent to me pushing the booth back so he could get in and by doing so he pushed our table.

The food was huge portions and good. The coffee was hot and well prepared and refilled constantly even when you said “no more”.

I’m a pick-up the order guy. And am consistent with what I order: corned beef on rye with a side of latke or French fries. Corn muffins when they have them, but they seem to run out quickly. They are very large and tasty. We love their chicken salad and Cole slaw. Both are a creamy consistency. The grilled chicken sandwich is great as is the Caesar wrap chicken sandwich.

I marked the atmosphere three stars and that is for the inside dining as well as pick-up windows. The pick-up windows remind me of the skit on Seinfeld with the soup nazi.

At Flakowitz, you order at one window (left side) and step aside and go to the next window (right side) to pay) but only when your name is called. If you linger too long ordering or don’t move quickly after ordering the men or women working there glare at you and sometimes shout to move away. And if you stand near the pick-up window before your name is called they shout to move away. It’s actually amusing to watch. And I forgot to mention, they have these metal food carts positioned in front of each window so you cannot get too close to the staff inside. Of course, this also demands you speak loudly. It’s a Flakowitz scene, all the regulars know the drill.

The food is plentiful and great. And the prices are high, but all restraints have high prices these days.

Enjoy. And behave when online.

We’ve visited Flakowitz more than 100 times since it opened.

Earlier this week, we purchased bagels and bialies. The bagels were as expected but the bialies were best described as Kaiser rolls with some onions on top. We threw 4 of them out after having eaten 1.

Today, we had a sundown breakfast there. We were seated quickly and were provided iced coffee and milk by the busboy/expediter/wearer of assorted hats fellow that’s been there for as long as I can remember. He’s likely the most efficient employee there.

We ordered a toasted sesame bagel/egg/sausage/cheese sandwich & home fries and a ham, cheddar cheese, & mushroom omelette with a toasted sesame seed bagel and oatmeal. We waited a long time for the order and the bagel sandwich had bacon. The oatmeal was never served. Once we had everything, we commented that there was nothing great about either dish. The eggs were dry and the cheese was hardly melted on the bagel sandwich. The eggs and entire omelette was dry and not enjoyable. I usually eat it all but, didn’t eat a quarter of it. Not a good experience at all. Really a waste of $50.

Flakowitz has been around forever for really good reasons. They are the nicest people, they don't charge an arm and a leg for a good meal, and they always get your order out fast and exactly how you ordered it.
