The bartenders do not want to serve the happy hour customers. They did everything possible to ignore you when you tried to get their attention to get a glass of water and a drink.
It is very disappointing because otherwise I would love that place. The service makes it not pleasant to be there or to recommend this restaurant.

Placed an order over an hour before closing. When I called to confirm order, they said they couldn't cook our order. They said they tried contacting me, but I didnt receive call or message. I asked to cancel the order to not be charged, but they said I had to do it myself. I called back again and their phone was disconnected. Dont advertise youre accepting online orders if youre not.
My friends and I have been regulars at this bar for about three years, and we’ve always enjoyed coming—until our most recent visit. The blonde server, Mackenzie, was extremely rude to us from the moment she walked over. She seemed irritated by even the simplest questions, spoke curtly, and acted like we were inconveniencing her just by being there.
The biggest issue was when she dropped/placed the check on the table in a dismissive way and immediately walked off, without a single word. It felt disrespectful and completely out of line, especially considering how long we’ve supported this place.
We’ve always loved this spot, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I hope management addresses this, because regulars deserve to be treated with basic courtesy.

As restaurant owners we try not to leave a review but this was such an odd experience. The atmosphere was nice, good location,sushi was good. The wait staff act like you are an inconvenience by breathing. For a $400 bill I would hope to have our drinks filled. We had to ask after searching for our server. The service was PAINFULLY slow. I've had excellent Korean bbq on the west coast for years so maybe I'm just difficult for taste but my suggestion, drop the Korean bbq, stick to sushi. Your servers aren't accustomed to how to properly present it and it's obvious they despise it. It was terribly overpriced as well. Good waygu

I normally don’t leave reviews, but this experience has been beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable.
Back in August, my coworkers purchased a Kanpai gift card for me as a birthday gift. Unfortunately, the email address was entered incorrectly, and I have been trying for months to get a replacement or correction. Despite multiple attempts to contact the restaurant and resolve the issue, it still has not been fixed.
To make matters worse, my coworker — the one who actually purchased the gift card — went into the Kanpai Boca Raton location yesterday to try to handle it in person. The employee who was supposed to assist, Litzy, was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. She avoided him the entire night, refused to greet or acknowledge him, and even after he sat at the bar, purchased food, and waited patiently, she never came over to address the issue.
Instead, he was simply told to write down his name and phone number and that someone would “get back to him.” After months of back-and-forth, that response is unacceptable.
This was supposed to be a thoughtful birthday gift, and it has turned into a long, frustrating ordeal marked by poor communication, lack of accountability, and shockingly bad customer service. For a restaurant of Kanpai’s reputation, this is extremely disappointing.
I hope management seriously reviews how situations like this are handled — no customer should have to chase a business for months to receive something that was already paid for, nor be treated with such disregard by staff.

late night happy hour is great, love the veggie gyoza, the pork belly, truffle edamame and the avocado fries. the drinks are aweeesome!!!! must try the bees knees and the one with the panda. sake by the glass is a really good portion. service is good

I was part of a group of 7 that dined here last night. Really great menu choices. We ordered several starters that were delicious. As expected, Saturday night is a busy evening for restaurants. It was especially busy last night. We also ordered 13 different rolls for the table, so everyone could have a taste. The bar was doing a phenomenal job of keeping up with drink orders. However, our server was in the weeds from the moment we got to the restaurant until we left. Our drinks sat for at least 10 minutes before she was able to bring them to us. The second round of drinks again sat just as long.There also seemed to be no front of house manager checking on food quality or needs of any table. The other wait staff that took care of refilling water and clearing tables seem to disappear for long periods at a time. Our table ended up with multiple empty plates, glasses, and needing water refills with no one seeming to notice. 10 of the 13 dishes arrived, with us noticing we were missing three more. It took another 15 minutes for two of the missing dishes to arrive, and then an additional 10 minutes on that for the final dish to arrive. Not sure if we will come back.

A great local spot for sushi, Japanese BBQ, and cocktails. Ask for Jason at the bar on Mondays and Tuesdays. You won't be disappointed!
