I had to leave a review specifically for Rachel! She mentioned to our group at the rotating sushi bar that she was new to the establishment, but you would never have known. Out of all the times I’ve sat at Kanpai, she has been the most attentive and genuinely outstanding server we’ve had.
My drink was never empty, she checked in at the perfect times without being overbearing, and she made sure we were completely satisfied the entire experience. On top of that, she was so kind and welcoming. Rachel is such an amazing addition to this establishment, and Kanpai is lucky to have her!
We will absolutely be back.

My husband made dinner reservations for Valentine's day at Kanpai. When you walk in the restaurant gives good vibes. One thing we noticed is that there were lots of k-bbq style tables but overheard the staff telling guest that the tables don't work. We ordered off the happy hour menu since they had a decent selection and off the regular menu. We ordered spicy wonton. When it arrived it was cold like it was defrosting. We mainly ordered sushi and appetizers and it took over 2 hours to get our entire order. The women's restroom was disgusting no toilet paper or paper towels. I understand it was a busy Valentine's day weekend but the restaurant didn't seem that busy. We will not be back.

Very underwhelming food to be honest, there's lots of other asian style restaurants I'd recommend before this one.
The Korean fried chicken had great crispy breading and a good sauce but the chicken itself was overcooked and not tender, needed to be fried at a lower temperature for longer time, or brine the chicken beforehand so it's more tender.
The cheesy tteokpeokki was also overcooked and dry, and maybe it's not traditional but I feel like an emulsified cheese sauce would be better for this dish than just melted cheese on top.
The lychee cocktail was good, but could really do without the blended lychee in the cocktail. Lychee is not a very good texture when it's blended, could just be my own preference though.
The krab in our spicy krab roll was just way too salty for some reason, not sure how they messed that up.
For the cost of the menu items, the food really should be better than what you get, I don't think I'll be coming back here or recommending it to friends.

This place was fantastic to me. Loved the quality and taste of the sushi. Both rolls tasted amazing, the wine also was excellent, riesling.
Sat at our table for 30 minutes and received no service. Asked for service and still received no waiter/waitress. We ended up leaving.

The restaurant is very pretty to look at upon walking it. The tables and floors are clean and the wall decors are set up nicely. I ordered the bulgolgi. This wasn't bulgolgi. It took about 40 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did I was not happy with it. It was over cooked beef with a terrible flavor. I don't know what makes them think it was bulgolgi. The bathroom did not reflect the rest of the restaurant as it was run down and not properly kept. I've seen gas station bathrooms in better condition. I had to find someone to get me soap since the bathroom had none. My girlfriend told me the female bathroom was disgusting with dirty water all over the ground. The rest of my group didn't complain too much about their food aside from the length of time we had to wait for it. When it was time to pay the bill our server was no where to be found. I had to walk around the restaurant to find someone else that would give me the check. Very disappointed and will NOT be returning. Cannot recommend.
