First, let's start with the good... the sushi was AMAZING, and the teriyaki salmon was on-point. Portions were quite small, at $9 for a small hand roll, I ended up ordering a sushi platter and a hand roll and ended up ordering 2 more hand rolls at $9 each to avoid hitting up a checkers on my way back The wine... we ordered a Riesling and a Chardonnay... pretty sure both were chardonnays. At 10:00pm, on Valentines Day, they had run out of Rielsing, and the staff ran out to fetch a bottle. I offered to get Moscato instead. The Riesling was served warm and I honestly couldn't tell the difference between it and a chardonnay What I did find annoying was the tables were separated by about 20 inches which made getting into it uncomfortable without climbing over the table next to us The annoyance was made worse when another couple came, and at that point, having 8 empty tables, the hostess still opted to sit them right next to us (20 inches away) The tables were also not on the water (no water view). Not what we drove 45 minutes hoping for. The good thing is that with simple training, most of these things can be fixed

Sushi was very good. We enjoyed sampling a little of everything from the sections of the menu. Very good. The tables were very close to each other and you kinda felt like you were in the conversations of those around you. Service was top shelf.

Kasumi is a high end sushi restaurant - rare for this area. The service is impeccable and ambiance is elegant . The food is innovative and very fresh and tasty. Their menu is limited but what they offer is very good. In particular their Wagyu is amazing! We had to reorder it! I highly recommend this if you love sushi and Japanese food and are looking for a high end experience

The food was nothing short of phenomenal. The otoro tuna and caviar sashimi and nigiri were the best I’ve ever had. The crudos — hamachi and omachi — were fresh, delicate, and full of flavor. The espresso martini (with a funny, unforgettable name!) was perfectly balanced. And the chocolate mousse dessert — simply sensational.
