Great food but horrible service. Drinks took almost an hour to arrive and after asking multiple times as well as our food order came out at different times. Our waitress admitted to forgetting to put our full order in but was not willing to fix anything. Her response to the drinks being an hour late was the bartenders were busy. Need to valet so plan for an extra 20 to 40 dollars. Prices for valet are negotiable - which is strange.

Really solid sushi, drinks, and service. It’s a creative menu with clear attention to detail. My highlights were the nigiri, it was great quality fish. The standout pieces were the spot prawn, striped jack, golden eye snapper, otoro, and the striped sea bass.

Had some cooked dishes and those were nice as well. The kinoko mochi was really enjoyable, with various mushroom types and nicely cooked tteokbokki.

Location on the waterfront is lovely, especially if the weather is cooler. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Our waitress Jennifer was amazing! Great food great atmosphere. Finally found a restaurant with a NYC style vibe. The crudo and rolls that we had were very tasty. We will be back and we will be telling everyone we know about this place !!

This was our second visit to Kasumi, and this time, we brought friends along because we enjoyed our first visit. While the food was delicious, there were some issues that dampened the experience.

We started with appetizers and specifically asked the waitress if the Tartare of Toro Tuna would be enough for four people. She assured us it would be, but when it arrived, the portion was embarrassingly small—barely enough for two people to share. While tasty, we immediately had to order another serving.

The BBQ Pork Belly followed a similar pattern: three pieces arrived for a table of four, forcing us to order another. Surprisingly, when the second portion came, it contained only two pieces.

For the main dishes, we ordered a selection of hand-rolled sushi, the Take (6 pcs Sashimi and 6 pcs Nigiri), and two maki rolls (28 pieces total). These were very good and met our expectations. The Wagyu Beef Gyoza was another highlight, with great flavor and presentation.

We ended the meal with the Kakigori Shaved Ice dessert, opting for the pineapple/mango and vanilla ice cream. While refreshing, it was just okay—nothing particularly memorable.

Overall, Kasumi’s food is undeniably good, but their portion sizes and service need improvement, especially when accommodating group dining. Given how long the restaurant has been open, I expected a more polished experience. There’s potential here, but they need to step up their game to deliver consistent satisfaction.

I recently dined at Kasumi, and it was truly an unforgettable experience that set a new standard for sushi dining. Having visited multiple Michelin-star sushi restaurants in the past, I can confidently say that Kasumi exceeded my expectations and even outshined many of them.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and the service was impeccable. Our server, Jamica, was hands down the best server I've ever had anywhere. Incredibly knowledgeable, Jamica's passion for the craft shone through as she guided us through the menu with spot-on recommendations. Every suggestion was a masterpiece, making the experience feel personalized and exceptional.

The management at Kasumi is clearly doing everything right. Their attention to detail and the seamless coordination in the dining room made for a smooth, delightful visit. However, the true star was the preparation of the fish—absolutely worthy of a Michelin star. The artistry in the presentation and the balance of flavors were impeccable.

The sea bass nigiri, otoro, uni, and eel nigiri were the best I've ever had. Each bite was a testament to the chef’s dedication to perfection, showcasing delicate textures and vibrant, fresh flavors that melted in the mouth.

This place left such an impression that I've already decided to come back for our first wedding anniversary—it’s that phenomenal. If you’re looking for a sushi experience that rivals and even surpasses top-tier Michelin star establishments, Kasumi is the place to go.

Don't let the fact that this is an exclusive restaurant located at the Waterstone, turn you away. I was really impressed by the quality of the fish here, probably some of the best Otoro and Hokkaido Uni nigiri I've ever had. The maki rolls were craftfully rolled and the ingredients were incredibly fresh.

The servers and staff at the bar were really warm and welcoming, engaging in conversation and giving genuine advice in both pairing food and sake as well as saving money when possible.

Highly recommend this place.

Here’s your review in English:

“I’ve tried countless Japanese restaurants in my life, but Kazumi stands out as the absolute best. The authenticity of the chef and the kitchen team, who come directly from Japan, shines through in every bite. The flavors are so delicate and refined, allowing the true taste of the fish to shine. I was also incredibly impressed, even amazed, by the meat dishes – the Wagyu, chicken, and every other plate were exceptional. Absolutely one of the best Japanese restaurants in Florida, if not in the United States. A must-try!”

Kasumi at the Waterstone Hotel: Boca’s New Japanese Gem After eagerly anticipating Kasumi’s opening for over a year, we’re thrilled to say it was well worth the wait. The ambiance is elegant and tasteful, with a minimalist aesthetic that feels both sophisticated and inviting. The teak wood chairs are beautifully crafted, though the backs could be a bit more comfortable. We chose to dine outside on the patio, where the setting near the water was picturesque, and we’re already planning to enjoy their cozy fire pit next time.

The attention to detail extends to the table settings, which are as beautiful as the food they complement. Even the wine glasses impressed—a rare but welcome touch. It’s clear the team put a lot of thought into creating a refined, visually appealing experience.

We started with a variety of appetizers, expertly recommended by our server, Sebastian, whose knowledge of the menu and attention to detail were exceptional. We tried the Kumamoto oysters, Wagyu Beef Gyoza, BBQ Pork Belly, Toro Tuna Tartare, and two Maki hand rolls—the Shrimp Tempura and the Tres Amigos. Each dish was artfully presented and absolutely delicious. Jennifer, another staff member, also helped us adjust the outdoor lighting to set the perfect mood, though a bit more lighting outside would be a great addition.

Kasumi brings a touch of class to Boca, and our dining experience was outstanding. We can’t wait to return. If you’re looking for a blend of fine Japanese cuisine, attentive service, and a beautifully curated atmosphere by the water, Kasumi is a must-visit.
