First of all this is a restaurant that we have been going to for many years. We were seated right away and given menus and water. We sat at our table for 20 minutes and no one came to take our order. When we complained they said someone would be right with us. We waited another 10 minutes and walked out. I then did an internet search and found that there were new owners which explained so much. After looking at the reviews the result was the same for most diners. This was to be the third and final time to give it one more try. Not only was there a decline in the service but also in the quality of the food.

This was the worst meal I've experienced in recent memory. Food was sent back with no taste and was cold. Meal was never remediated. Manager was asked for and would not speak with me. Server was non existent and had no answers for lapse in his service. This was not the Birthday dinner my Wife was expecting.

Service was unacceptable. We were not treated in a timely manner. Others were experiencing the same issues. Orders not taken . We waited for a half hour before water was served, bread as well. We kept flagging down a waiter but were ignored. Not returning.

We have eaten here for years and the food is always consistently delicious. Authentic French food served by French staff and prepared by a French chef. We always have the complete dinner and the appetizers, entrees, salad and desserts are always wonderful. They also have a good selection of French wines. I highly recommend!

With a 7:00pm reservation, we ate there on Valentine's Day as a group of four. A few overwhelmed, understaffed, and largely untrained servers were on hand. It took 45-minutes from being seated to anyone appearing at the table. People had been there 2-hrs without receiving their main dish, and diners were leaving in open disgust. How do I know 2-hrs is not an exaggeration? I was there exactly 2-hrs earlier dropping off flowers & cards for the 3-female members of our group. Our understanding is that they had only one of 2-cooks in the kitchen. No one represented the new owners. It used to be one of our favorites, but in spite of the good food, why eat there again? Oh they called a few days prior for a $20pp deposit. At the restaurant, I had to prove via credit card statement that I paid $80. The restaurant actually charged me $80.00 plus TAX (as a sale) but even with proof, only credited me back the deposit w/o sales tax - petty. With everyone complaining, it was an overcrowded ZOO!!

Eaten here dozens of times. Alway gave glowing reviews. Never experienced what we did on Valentine's Day. Usually don't go out to eat this day due to poor service--boy should have followed instincts. Arrived on time for 5:30pm reservations. Restaurant didn't contact Open Table to let them know we showed up (I contacted OT separately to be sure we rec'd credit). Limited in space so will shorten this. Not just affected us, but everyone in restaurant had the same experience. Hadn't been to restaurant in 2 yrs. Owner expanded into adjoining space; kitchen space remained the same--simply can't handle this. Ordered a Kir-- flute glass only 1/2 filled for $10. Ordered wine to be served w/meal; asked it be served with main meal. Asked various waiters during the course of the meal for the wine -- never showed up. Asked for at least bread--waited 1/2 hr; couple next to us waited almost 2 hrs. for their appetizer (they too rec'd bread when I asked for ours). Appetizers showed up 1 hr later. I had just about finished mine when my main meal arrived. Hubby's main meal showed up 45 min. later. Desserts at almost 8:00; we left at 8:30pm. Just horrendous service; staff totally overwhelmed. Kitchen couldn't keep us. Patrons were "joking" among each other what a terrible experience. Food was good but just an AWFUL experience. Will never go back!

Upon arrival the person who sat us gave us a choice of 2 tables neither of which were acceptable. The restaurant wasn't crowded and there were plenty of other tables available. It was 6:15 pm. I asked for the manager and he rudely said to me “what do you think I can't do my job?” I said u am asking for the manager and we would like service. The manager sat us at an acceptable table. After 20 minutes, our order was taken. It took a 1/2 hour to get our escargot appetizer which was delicious. We asked for more bread which never came. It took an hour before our dinner arrived. Very unacceptable. On top of that mine was lukewarm and my friends was cold. She sent hers back which took 10 minutes before it came back and it was still cold. Needless to say, very disappointing. I ordered the branzino which was dry tasteless and so was the risotto. My friend ordered the flounder which was also tasteless and cold. We left most of the food over, and tried flagging down the waitress for the check. We wanted to pay and leave. It took another 20 minutes to get the check and then we sat there waiting for someone to take it. This was not cheap, not good, and very disappointing. We will not go back.

Our server took our order and never came back to the table. Another server checked on us and was very apologetic that it was taking so long for our food. We waited over an hour for our entrees... one was over cooked and the other raw so we ended up paying and just leaving and went somewhere else for dinner.

A Culinary Journey at Le Rivage: A Delightful Experience

If you're seeking a dining experience that combines elegance, flavor, and impeccable service, Le Rivage stands out as a true gem. From the moment we entered this refined French restaurant, we were welcomed into an atmosphere of warm sophistication and charm. My husband and I went on a romantic date to celebrate my birthday a few weeks ago.

To begin, we sampled the escargot and the lobster bisque. The escargot were perfectly tender, bathed in a rich, garlicky butter sauce that melted in the mouth with every bite. The lobster bisque, creamy and decadent, yet delicate, was the epitome of luxury — with a deep, oceanic flavor that lingered on the palate in the most delightful way.

For the main course, we selected the snapper and the salmon. The snapper was particularly memorable, served with a rich mushroom wine sauce that enhanced its delicate flavor. The sauce, velvety and savory, paired wonderfully with the crispy skin and tender fish. The salmon was equally superb — seared to perfection with just the right moisture, it was a dish that truly highlighted the fish’s natural richness.

For dessert, we indulged in the cheesecake and the baked apple tart. The cheesecake was a light, airy delight — tangy yet sweet, with a perfect balance of smoothness and flavor. The baked apple tart was the star of the evening, the warm, tender apples nestled in a buttery, flaky crust, topped with a scoop of rich, creamy ice cream that melted into the tart, creating an irresistible finish.

All in all, Le Rivage offers more than just a meal; it provides an immersive experience in the heart of French cuisine. The service was impeccable, the ambiance both intimate and inviting, and the food—exquisite, authentic and so delicate. Whether you're a connoisseur of French gastronomy or simply someone who enjoys a well-crafted dish, Le Rivage is a destination that guarantees satisfaction.

The lady owner was very courteous
We ordered New York pepper steak (Pepper sauce). It was good and French authentic though our personal taste would be more creamy. The foie gras was also very good. The creme brulee was excellent.

The boss/owner was nice. She has had the restaurant for 20 years. The pepper steak is authentically French, although we would prefer creamier. The pan-fried foie gras is very good and the crème brûlée is perfect to end our dinner.

We had wonderful service at a quaint place with an authentic French experience. Enjoyed the complete meal and impressed with the French onion soup, oysters, well prepared beef Wellington and delicious osso bucco. Followed by the floating island and orange cheesecake! Sweet ending to a fabulous meal for a date night with hubby!
