This place doesn't exist

This location has hosted a number of ill-fated restaurants and sports bars since the long-ago days of the revered Joe Muir's seafood restaurant. Moonshine Molly's, the latest incarnation, is a reasonably good Country and Western bar with restaurant. They feature occasional live music. Although there was band equipment on the bandstand during our recent Saturday night visit, we didn't get to see a live band -- but the music flowed anyhow. There's a large dance floor, and I'm told that they even provide line dancing lessons. The atmosphere is comfortable and spacious, the only changes from the previous establishment being the addition of a few saddles here and there, reupholstering the booths to Holstein cattle design, and the removal of the pool table and a goodly number of TV monitors. Which is all that was needed, really. It's a lively venue (if a bit loud and a bit too cold), and a good place to quaff a brew or two. Cowboy hats and boots welcome. Presently they only open from 4PM. The reason I didn't give Molly's a better rating is that it seems not to have hit its stride as a restaurant. The ribs, a signature dish, were good; but the meat didn't fall off the bone as it should. The mixed vegetable side dish was insipid, and our overcooked hushpuppies were lacking in spice and onion. I trust that this situation will improve with time. I will suggest, however, that if one charges Boca prices, one should ensure that the food comes up to Boca standards. Update, three years later: Yep, it closed. It was replaced by a sports bar which has also closed. There is something about that location...

We loved this place. My friends and I started line dancing a little over a year ago. We have been going around to different places; Tampa, Jacksonville, Orange Park, Mt. Dora, West Palm Beach, Ormond Beach, Melbourne, Daytona Beach and now Boca Raton. We live in Palm Coast, FL and came for a mini vacation last weekend. The line dancing was great. We were so impressed with the instructor David. We can honestly say he was even better than the instructor at our community education. He knows just how to call the steps so you actually learn the dance and then later in the night they played the song so you could do the dance you learned. We were there Sat night, they had 1/2 price drinks and didn't skimp on the alcohol. The band was great was well. Unfortunately, I can't remember their name. They played songs that could be line danced to as well. We came their to drink and line dance and couldn't be happier. We didn't eat this time but will try the food next time we are in the area. If I could move that club to Palm Coast, I'd be so happy. They do line dance lessons Wed - Sat and maybe even more. I had a few Malibu Bay Breeze's and they were delicious. Really, I can't say enough about this Moonshine Molly's. Our local country bar is in Ormond Beach, it is a dump and allows smoking as do many of the others which really sucks. We still go because it's the only place by us which is still 35 min away. Just go yourself and I bet you will have so much fun. I hope more people that have a great time will post here. Usually you only post when you're angry about something. I wish the club many many successful years. I have a cousin in Delray and you better believe that I will be making the trip to see him more often now that I found this place.

After passing by many times to work, I have always wanted to try this place! I finally ordered some food for the first and last time. The food was delicious! I'll give them that... But the portion was for a small child- if I put it all on a plate it would still seem bare. (Note: I got an entree AND a few sides extra) Brisket entree, 2 sides, an extra side. Waste of money, I'm going to eat and still be hungry with no money left over to go elsewhere. Glad to cross this one off of my list!

Ducked in with Spencer for a chat. Quickly determined that this is a Country bar and restaurant sat square in mid-Boca. They just opened, purportedly within the last week. I like: * Clean * New * Big Investment * Lots of square feet * The dude sitting next to me was a return dining customer even the joint is still waiting on the paint to dry...he loved the gator bites...he was approx. 25 years old I question: * The format for the area * The prices * The Cowboy who shoved a menu in Spencer's face before we even settled... Too aggressive. * Whomever hired Kayla, our bartender... Attractive but, uh, inept. :-) I want the place to succeed. Very much so. It just opened. Thus, I shan't be too critical. I wish it well and shall watch closely. Seems a bit too corporate, and not well thought out (blue haired New Yorkers will go anywhere as long as Country Music isn't playing). Perhaps this swanky restaurant / Country nightclub can survive on college kids, but I doubt it. $6 Amstels in a can, valet parking at 6:30P, a bathroom valet, and $11 bourbon is not the formula for success. But, I did not eat. Perhaps the food is that GOOD. I shall return and try it, til then, hang on Moonshine Molly's!! I suspect they will, my street sources tell me that the proprietor has other, more sensible investments. Cabeza...wait for it... OUT!
