Went to Penelope's on Sunday for brunch and it left MUCH to be desired.For starters we weren't greeted or told to wait to be seated we walked in looking for a hostess to finally be seated by a hostess.
Service was slow and the kitchen was slow.I got the crab cakes benny, it was ok. the hollandaise sauce was thick, not light and creamy I scraped it off.The crab cake was soft and fell apart when I cut into it.

The food both times has been excellent. The Gumbo and Jambalaya are outstanding. Unfortunately this place hasn’t figured out yet how to properly staff up for season. The first time we went was during lunch and the food took forever to get to us. Tonight (Valentine’s Day) was even worse. We had such a nice girl’s night here! The mussels app and short rib special were delish. The GM, Adam was so nice, too! We talked with him for a bit and he ended up sending us out some beignets as a congrats for our celebrations. Can’t wait to bring my fiancé back :)
