I am so sad to see this restaurant closed. It was an amazing restaurant, food was fresh and it was clean. I hope they open somewhere else....

The shredded chicken nachos with guacamole and sour cream are phenomenal! Authentic Tex- Mex dinners are so so good. I had the Taco dinner and it was delicious! Tacos Al Pastor are very tasty and nice char on the pork. Excellent portions and prices. Come to Quates 2 for good Tex Mex in West Boca Raton.

Excellent. Just finished the mudgirl run and craved beer and Tacos. This place delivered. Super cool decorations. Clean bathrooms. The chips are fresh and warm. Salsa is mild but they do offer a spicier one. The carnitas...mmmmm...I will come back just for the pork!

Last night we'd decided to go out to celebrate my daughter's acceptance in a college she'd chosen. We'd driven past Quates many times and the reviews seemed decent enough so we thought we'd give it a go. It was shortly after 8p on a Friday night and there were only a couple of tables filled and the bar had a few patrons. That should have been our first red flag. When we were seated everything looked fine. We were all in great spirits when the waiter greeted us. The menu looked pretty impressive with the variety of options. After we received our drinks, which took awhile (understandably because there was only one bartender and he was waiting on people at the bar) we started placing our orders. I asked the waiter to specifically make sure our steak nachos were served before dinner. We'd waited a long time - nearly 20 min before our food was served and hadn't seen our waiter beforehand to check in or get a refill for any of our drinks. When he finally showed up, he dropped off all the food except mine, because there wasn't any room on his serving tray. I mentioned to him that we hadn't gotten our appetizer and he mumbled an apology and went back to the kitchen to get my meal and the nachos. In the meanwhile, I asked my family to start eating and not let their food get cold. My wife's steak a la mexicana was overdone. When the waiter came back with my food, he quickly dropped it off mumbled some apology and before he could run off, my wife told him that her steak was overdone and showed him the steak. He quickly grabbed it and ran back to the kitchen to get it redone. He came back a little while later with a redone steak and said he was sorry and hoped it was fine now. He ran back before my wife could cut into it to check. Luckily it was better this time around. However, not once did this waiter come to check on us or refill any of our drinks. We were around until after close (9:30p) not out of choice. The waiter never came back and we were hoping to at least get boxes for the leftovers. Another person who was bussing the tables slinked over and presented our bill. I asked to speak to a manager. I explained our experience to the manager and he nonchalantly said that the waiter was new and that he apologized that the drinks weren't refilled and that he'd heard about the mishap with the appetizer. He made some excuse that the food was delayed because they were busy at the bar. What did that have to do with the kitchen??? He said that the next time I'd come to Quates, to talk to him and he'd take care of me. Ha..I will never come to this place again! With more than a dozen other similar places with similar or better quality food, my money is better spent elsewhere that I can enjoy a great evening and not be made to feel like an inconvenience.
