I'm afraid the ownership of this place has changed, and with the food is nothing like it was. I did notice they spent way too much on bags and too little on continuing the menu dish formula. It was our local go to place. Now we have to travel to Hunan Garden in Delray. Bring back the way it was

Everything was very good, but I was surprised to have been charged $10.00 for a side of plain, steamed broccoli...

I've found it very hard to find good Chinese food in So. Florida. Shaingai city is about the best I've found so far. It's clean with good service. The shredded beef szechuan style was excellent and just a touch spicy. Tender beef strips, a good mix of vegatables and a flavorful sauce. Egg roll was small and uninspiring but the spring roll was good. Both the hot & sour soup and wonton were very good. General Tso chicken was very good with all white meat, a light batter coating and an excellent sauce that was not overly sweet. (perfect for many people but if you like a heavy and crunchy batter with fattier dark meat this one may be too light.) orange beef looked good but didn't get a chance to try it.

The food was below average; karbragoon’s tasted like leftovers from lunch, spring rolls had more dough than filling and didn’t taste good; the garlic chicken was bland and chicken didn’t taste good; the beef and eggplant was ok but the meat was low quality and the Singapore rice noodles were ok but the shrimp tasted old. Save your money and don’t bother eating here!

Main food was good but the boiled rice seemed to be cooked at the previous day.

Friends raved about Shanghai City and we have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately this isn't it. Just another average Chinese restaurant that is extremely busy.

Started with Wonton Soup, decent made with beef broth, then an Egg Roll, just fair.

For mains, my wife loves Chicken With Eggplant , with bell peppers and scallions. She has had better. I opted for the Szechuan Shrimp , hot and spicy with both red & green peppers, onions, water chestnuts, and snow peas. I love spicy but this was over the top.

One and done.

Went to early dinner on NYE with 5 others. Food was extremely bland and pricey. No accompaniments with main course. Upon payment was told I didn't give amount due and tried explaining I gave certain amount and awaiting change. Rather than making a scene, I paid more than what I told her I gave. Needless to say I or others in my group will not go here.

Uuuuughhhh. I never write a bad review. Usually I am doing this for my favorite places. But this time I felt the need to let others know to stay away. So, initially, the place is depressing. Needs to be renovated. Looks like it was cleaned and painted in the 1970s and never touched again. The white table cloth on the table had filth and stains on it. We should have left right then. Then we waited. There was a large group of people in the back and the staff was small - no one came to greet us. We waited 15 minutes.I had to flag down the girl who kept walking past us and ask if someone could take our order. So they did. But without an apology.40 minutes later I had to flag down the same girl to ask if someone could check on our order in the kitchen! A few minutes later our COLD food was brought to the table. No apology again. Not good. Overall just a bad experience.

Shanghai City, settled within the heart of Boca Raton, Florida, could be a covered up diamond that provides a delightful eating encounter reminiscent of the bustling roads of Shanghai. From the minute I strolled through the entryway, I was invited by an air that guaranteed an bona fide taste of Chinese cooking. Our server for the evening, Lily, was a enchant. She welcomed us with a warm grin, was mindful to our needs, and given quick proposals from the menu. Her inviting and proficient benefit included a individual touch to our feasting experience, making us feel really esteemed.Presently, let's conversation almost the dishes. Shanghai City may be a culinary pearl, advertising a wide extend of dishes that highlight the different flavors of Chinese food. The menu gloats an cluster of luscious choices, from dim whole to flavorful noodle dishes, and the quality and genuineness of their offerings shone through in each nibble. The "Xiaolongbao" dumplings were a standout, with their sensitive skins and flavorful broth. The "Kung Pao Chicken" had fair the proper adjust of spice and savory, and the "Braised Pork Stomach" softened in your mouth. The benefit at Shanghai City is productive, and the staff's information of Chinese food is clear. The feasting encounter was upgraded by Lily's astute benefit and the restaurant's commitment to quality.I'm withholding one star due to the to some degree cramped seating course of action amid top hours, which might influence the in general consolation of the feasting encounter. In any case, Shanghai City is an fabulous choice for those in Boca Raton looking for an true taste of Chinese cooking. With Lily's extraordinary benefit and the amazing dishes, you're in for a culinary travel that will take off you longing for more.
