Dinner at the Grill did not advertise its excellence. It’s an ordinary, if nice, establishment. Looks can be deceiving. I arrived before my companions so I had a cocktail at the bar. As a single woman over 30 I don’t get much attention from bartenders of either gender. The male bartender quickly took my order, assured me a Negroni was not a problem order then quickly produced said cocktail expertly. It was glorious. I laid my credit card on the bar to indicate my desire to pay when he asked if I was leaving so soon. I was stunned. I explained that my party would be arriving soon for dinner. I may have tipped a bit higher than I normally would in the face of such courtesy. When a larger party came to the bar I stood to give them my seat as I would leave soon anyway. My party arrived and we were seated quickly choosing a high top in the bar to waiting even a few minutes. We all ordered then waited about 20 minutes. I just wondering if there was time for a second pre-dinner cocktail when we were served. I had the swordfish piccata. When I say it was meticulously fresh, luscious and sinfully delicate I do not exaggerate one iota. This gorgeous swordfish will go down in my history as the gold standard. Every other chef will have to live up to this magnificent dish.My companions ordered steak, soup, sweet potato and another swordfish - all were excellent. Their cocktails were excellent, even one that was made sweeter than usual by request. We didn’t order desert. It was after 9 on a weeknight by the time we finished talking so we broke up the party to find our beds. The Grill on Congress is an excellent establishment that is doing everything right. I recommend highly.

The Asian salmon is one of the best I have ever had. The seasoning is fantastic and I really enjoy the stir fry oriental vegetables that come with it. Three of us had this dish and enjoyed it. The fourth person had shrimp scampi and thought it was excellent. I think I would prefer sitting in the bar area. The main dining room is too brightly lit and tables are very close together. The service was efficient but not outstanding. If you bring your own bottle of wine, the corkage charge is $22. I will return to enjoy the salmon again.

We adore the biscuits here.....warm and crispy edges..to die for. Kathleen has been our regular server and she is great. We love the swordfish picata. The fish is so fresh and prepared perfectly. The pasta portion is generous and will be a lunch another day. Great evening!

For me, this location is the one and only. When I ordered the 24-ounce bone in rib eye medium, it arrived uncooked. I sent it back, and it naturally arrived in a mediocre state. How many steaks are they cooking and are they unable to achieve the proper temperature the first time? Everything here was of low quality, including the beef. Don't squander money or time.

The Grill on Congress is one of our ‘go to' places to dine. The food is consistently flavorful ( the scones warm and delicious) , service is friendly and helpful- as was Kathleen, our server. We each had a salmon dish ( grilled or Asian style) with various sides that were available to choose from. Portion size was good. If I have any criticism at all, it's about the recent redo of the interior. Yes, the white paint and more modern lighting fixtures did make the restaurant light and bright but it totally removed any semblance of intimacy or ambiance the old decor offered. Sorry, but It's now like eating in a diner! Bring back intimate and cozy!!

Disappointed. We have ordered entree salads before, and did the same now, and they were not good. Chicken Cashew was mostly lettuce, still reasonable at $19.00 but when shrimp substituted, not only did number of shrimp reduce but price was $27.00. Even this would have been ok if there was more than alot of lettuce and skimpy shrimp to eat. On guest had hamburger which was medium well done instead of RARE as ordered. Drinks were OK, or else... Anyway- they should and could do better

Hidden Jem. Owner is hands on. Staff members are all accommodating, many of them have been there forever. Food selection and preparation is outstanding. Almost done updating decor. Restaurant Bern there as long as I can remember [resident of area for 32 years].

Cory, our waiter, made it a wonderful experience. Knowledgeable and accommodating. The food was plentiful and delicious. The noise level interfered with the ability to have a normal conversation. We were surrounded with large groups that were conversing with very loud voices. Will request a table in the small room in the back next time. Hopefully it won't be so loud.

We have been here on a number of occasions, and have never had a bad meal, drink, or service!! Last night one of the specials was the Coconut-crusted Snapper, and all four of us ordered it, and all of us were extremely pleased!! Service was Outstanding, per usual, and we were singing The Muffin Man every time either he, or our server brought us more!! Just a GEM of a restaurant!!

Great bread. Pork chops dry and sit of tough. Sat in the entranceway, thinking it was quieter than the main area and they failed to tell us they had a big crowd coming in, so it was very noisy with people standing over our table. Oh well.

Our reservation was honored immediately. The very pleasant waitress took our order efficiently. The very delicious biscuits were brought to us almost immediately, however we were never given a second biscuit. From there the meal deteriorated. The 65 dollar veal chop was inedible it had so much grizzle it couldn't be cut. It was returned and taken off the check. The skirt steak was not a prime piece of meat and was tasteless and tough. The prime rib was as poor as the skirt steak. No seasoning, no such just just dry inedible meat. The Asian glazed salmon was edible. I don't like leaving negative comments but I made an exception for this meal.

We found our meal to be very mediocre. The plate itself was plentiful but was tasteless. The chicken had no taste and the vegetables were wilted. The meatloaf was average and was served with the same vegetables. The biscuit served when seated was a nice touch and was the highlight of the meal. It was our first time at the restaurant and most likely we will not return.

After specifically requesting leisurely service, our entrees arrive while we were barely half way through our salads. The very young person who said that he was in charge said all the right things, but the damage was done. The food was fine.

The food is very good but some of the portions are very small ie: Ceasar Salad, Cheese Cake. The noise level loud. Service very good. The restaurant is quite friendly to patrons that have allergies. Overall I would recommend them.
