Absolutely loved Thomas Sawyer’s - a hidden breakfast gem that feels like a cozy cabin getaway!

Walking into Thomas Sawyer’s Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale (or Coral Springs area) instantly feels like stepping into a warm country lodge. The walls are filled with vintage artifacts, nostalgic signs, and rustic touches that make you feel right at home. It’s like a Cracker Barrel, but much more authentic and personal - you can tell every detail was chosen with love and character.

The breakfast menu is phenomenal. From perfectly cooked eggs and fluffy pancakes to hearty omelets and crisp bacon, everything tastes homemade. The pastry display alone deserves five stars — easily one of the best I’ve seen in South Florida when combined with the atmosphere. Each pastry looks incredible, from croissants and muffins to unique baked treats that are flaky, fresh, and delicious. It’s almost impossible to walk out without trying one. And that's after you have the unique breakfast in a pot literally served in the pot - and it's a nice pot too. A higher end cookware series.

What really sets this place apart is the atmosphere: friendly staff, family-friendly vibe, and that comforting “old Florida” charm that’s getting harder to find. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Thomas Sawyer’s is one of those rare spots you’ll want to come back to again and again.

Highly recommend for breakfast lovers, families, and anyone who enjoys a place with real soul and character.

Great breakfast. Long wait. Tip: while you are waiting go in and buy a pastry at the counter. Wish we had known that. Elise, our server was excellent. Skip the junior pancakes and go for a big one.

Normally come here every now and then, and the food is good, busy restaurant but good. However this time was the most horrible, and discriminatory. My boyfriend and I came in, it’s Sunday around almost 1 it’s busy but not packed so we wrote our name down to wait. Waited 20mins or so not a problem, got sat at a small table in the middle of the floor, okay it’s busy, not super picky, just hungry. Three tables sat right after us two right next to us, two who already had waters on the table before we sat down. The third must of been regulars because again the server went right up to them asking for their drinks. We had been sitting there for more than 5-8 minutes with no acknowledgment, not even water. It was ridiculous! Even worse when we walked out after still not being acknowledged, I came back not even a minute later to talk to the manager about it and no one even recognized we had gone. Manager, Jorge, was apologetic, offering for a free meal next time but no card was given, nothing promised but his word, didn’t even give me the sever’s name. What’s even more sad is that the waitress was white, with dirty blonde hair, wearing a yellow shirt, and the families and regulars she greeted before us were all white as well in appearance. Very discriminating, very sad. Just left a bad taste in our mouths after that, which is a shame because the food is good.

Went to the restaurant for breakfast. My wife and I ordered country Fried steak with country gray, home fries, Biscuits and a side of gravy.
The Home fries had no seasoning or taste like a plan potato.
Sauage Gravy was very bland had no flavor.
And the biscuit had an odd flavor nothing the resembling a country biscuit.
This was the first time at Tom Sawyers Restaurant. Traveled out of my way and not worth the trouble.

Fantastic experience! I wanted a club sandwich and was not let down when this lively little bistro was suggested to me. In addition to a vast menu of other delectable dishes, they feature a great variety of sandwiches. They also have an amazing bakery section. Excellent service is provided. Definitely coming back.
