Excellent BBQ. The cooks are great, the staff are fantastic, friendly, helpful and of course some of the best barbecue I've ever had. I would highly recommend this place.

You might as well just try one of everything on the menu or you will be missing out! I’ve never had BBQ so good in Florida. It’s a nice homey vibe and they have amazing prices, 1 combo meal fed me and my partner for only $13. Definitely a stop everytime we drive through🩷

Roadside America - large helping of good food. Sides were good. When we pulled in every was giving the look like I picked a less than choice location. Well if you enjoy barbecue and want a big helping Smoking Joe’s is a must try!

The food is always fresh and delicious. The seasoning is light so you can adjust it to your taste with any of the array of sauces and other condiments available. The ice cream and milk shakes are to die for. The atmosphere is truly home grown family owned southern bbq with no lace or frills. I drive frequently between Cale Coral and Lakeland to see family and this place is a land mark for us.
Long wait, not a whole lot of smiles from the staff, but MAN it's WORTH the MONEY. I'm glad I don't live closer, I'd need a second job. The pulled pork sammich was awesome. I was worried when I saw a tray of shelf bbq sauce on the table (KC Masterpiece, etc.), but then I saw their own bottles. When the food came, it was ON POINT. Great portions, the greens were fantastic. I'd asked for slaw on the sammich, and got mac and cheese (which was also awesome, not just a cheese glob like some places). I will be saving up my appetite and coming up this road instead of I-75 just to stop by this place again!
And that ain't just some wood in the smoker to draw in customers. They're WORKIN' that THANG!

20 minutes in line to order, lady at counter more interested in gabbing than working. Then had to wait 20 more minutes for the food, a sandwich and a backed potato. So if you're not hungry when you get there you will be by the time your food is ready.
