Walked in to a virtually empty cafe, had to buy something to get the wifi (understandable), and setup my laptop to start working. A few minutes later im told I have to shut my laptop because they are not allowed after 5pm as they "ruin the atmosphere". Spoke to the owner and he looked me dead in the face and told me "laptop people, are losing Starbucks millions of dollars and they ruin the atmosphere. We plan on banning them permanently" WHAT ATMOSPHERE YOUR CAFE IS EMPTY?. Starbucks didn't get their millions from kicking students out of their stores.

*Edit* Glad to see you’re still sassy as ever in these replies, hopefully now you can respond to the multiple reviews of bugs in your food! After reading your reviews im so grateful you kick us “laptop people” out like you told me when we spoke. We laptop people aren’t too fond of maggots in our food anyway. Glad you’ve remained so pompous in these trying times, cant wait to come back in a few years when they’ve turned bond street into something better! Also I went across the street to Common Grounds and they were packed! Some people studying some people laughing and playing games and I even ordered a coffee and some food (that was reasonably priced)! Glad I got to see how a real business was run so fast after visiting your vacant establishment.

Three times I've ordered meals..chicken satay, meatloaf and some kind of meat dish and all of them were horrific and not cheap! The pastries are the way to go here

We just ate at Bond Street ale and coffee. I ordered a mushroom quiche. I am sorry to say it is the absolute worst food I have ever eaten, which I only ate part of it. Not real eggs. Bottom crust was WET! Baked goods looked good. We will never return - lunch was just under $40 😳.

Disgusted is an understatement. First time here and I will not be returning. Went through a situation with a bug/parasite moving in my friend’s food. We all had the same dish so who knows how much of these bugs we may have eaten. Our server was apologetic and we were refunded; but we did not receive full refunds as we were told we would be. The most disappointing part of this experience was that the manager or owner did not come speak to us; but instead walked out and drove away right in front of us. If you choose to eat here, make sure to double check your food and eat at your own risk. The situation could’ve been avoided had the meat been stored properly or even cooked properly, but the way it was handled could’ve definitely been better.

The staff are extremely rude. The food used to be better but seems to have gone downhill recently. My sandwich fell apart while trying to eat. The whole time the staff kept telling me I had to put away my laptop every few minutes.. They were extremely rude about it - many people work at a coffee shop.

It seems to be under new management. I've been here many times in the past and it was great. I will not be coming back the way I was treated.

Also it's extremely hot I don't think they turn the air conditioner on

This place could be so much better if people were aware of thier resting… idk why they have to give people such bad looks and ignoring people, not to mention the lady with curly hair definitely is unprofessional, doesn’t know much about out customer service, honestly I don’t know how she has a job

Had breakfast and lunch here a few times and every time my order was wrong and had no flavor. Its overpriced for basic ingredients. The staff is untrained and unprofessional. The guy taking my order didn't even know the menu. The tables are always dirty and the staff doesn't seem to care.

I've been coming here on and off for a few months now and had always had an enjoyable time until my last few visits. I started coming to have a place to work on my laptop and study and have always purchased food and/or coffee while I'm there. I became friendly with one of the girls who worked there and she even mentioned they were hiring and offered to have me fill out an application (I did not end up applying as I had another job opportunity at the time). She was always friendly up until the last few times I came in. The first weird experience was when I went up to the counter to order water and a juice. Before I could order the juice she told me that I needed to purchase something to be here. I said "Ok, no problem... I was planning to order a juice." She told me they no longer have their fresh pressed juice so I offered to buy a bottle of water instead of their free tap water and then went back to studying. Since then I've been back and have ordered both food and coffee. Today I decided to go back to study because the library is closed for a holiday. When I walked in I saw the same girl, this time she did not smile back nor was she friendly in any way. I sat at a table and was finishing some emails and a phone call before I was going to go up to order a coffee to study and one of the employees comes up and asks if I wanted to order anything from her or if I wanted to order at the counter. I told her I'm just finishing up a few things and then I'll go to the counter to order and thanked her. About 15min later I'm finishing up my last call and the girl comes back over... I tell her one moment while I try to get off the phone and then the same girl who had asked me about an application previously came up and started yelling at me that I need to leave and that I cannot sit here for 45min before I order (hadn't even been there for 30 min). Before I could even respond or get off the phone she continued to raise her voice at me and rudely tell me I cannot sit here for free. I simply responded "Ok." and left. I am honestly so disappointed at the lack of professionalism with this employee and the owners here after I've purchased multiple times from them. I understand and respect having a policy that you must purchase something to use the space but demanding that I order right away and yelling at me for not doing so is beyond disrespectful especially when I have followed the policy every time previously. At least have the professionalism and maturity to respectfully communicate with customers if they are not following your policy. That is not how you treat customers and I will not be coming back nor recommending this place ever again. I've seen multiple other reviews of people mentioning the same thing, and being confused whether this is a cafe or not because of strange laptop and wifi rules. Pick a business model and stick to it, or at least learn how to properly and NICELY communicate your company policies to people who come in to support your business. Glad I never applied and glad I didn't order immediately when I walked in this last time. Hope the rude girl has a better day tomorrow so she doesn't have to ruin someone else's day again.

I visited Bond Street Ale on December 1, and unfortunately, I had one of the worst dining experiences of my life. While sharing a meal with my friend, we discovered something moving in her dish. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the cleanliness and hygiene standards of this establishment.

When we brought this to the staff’s attention, their response was apologetic and was told she was going to speak to a manager. She did comeback and claimed to refund us but no manager came to speak with us.. This only added to our frustration and disappointment.

A restaurant should maintain basic food safety standards, and this incident clearly shows a lack of proper oversight. I strongly urge management to investigate how this could happen and take immediate steps to ensure no one else has to experience something this horrifying.

I cannot recommend this place to anyone and will not be returning. If you’re considering dining here, proceed with caution

I hate that I had this experience here. On 12/1/24 While eating I saw something moving in my food! I came with 2 other friends and they were freaking out because they ordered the same thing. One had finished her entire plate. The bowl was taken away and the cashier was apologetic and refunded us our money, which we appreciated. But we are all waiting still on the refunds to come through. The man who we are pretty sure was the owner simply walked out without saying a word to us. We literally watched him get in his car and drive off. We were all in complete shock, especially me because I found the bug/worm in my bowl! The way he handled this was distasteful. Video attached.

I was really disappointed with my experience at Bond Street Ale and Coffee. From the moment I walked in, the service felt chaotic and unprofessional. The staff seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than in taking care of customers. It took forever to get my order, and when I did, it wasn’t correct. The worst part was how rude the staff was, especially a shorter, curly dark-haired girl. Her attitude was off-putting, and she seemed bothered by simple requests. The whole experience was frustrating, and I won’t be returning.
