This is classic Americana/diner done to perfection. It does not get any better than this. Perfectly dressed burgers, fresh cut home fries, and a delightful buffet with every item being a flavor explosion. I’m very glad it’s a hour away, or I’d be a much larger man.

We had the all you can eat buffet for lunch after making our once a month shopping trip to Marrianna from Sumatra. If you like country meals then this is a good choice. The food items are simple and good. It also includes a decent salad selection of items. This is a good location for a full meal whether you're a local or passing through Bristol on vacation.

My Dad and I used to stop and eat lunch at the Apalachee Restaurant back in the early to mid 6o's, on our way to Dove shoots in Calhoun County. Still remember that it was really good.

This is one of 2 restaurants in town. They are very friendly with pretty good food and reasonable prices.

I'm just going to say, this is a Southern thing; sitting all by yourself, you will get nods to say hi. Sooner or later someone is going to start a friendly conversation with you, be it from the next booth or salad bar. Did I mention this is a friendly place? Even the owner makes his rounds by each table to see if you need anything.

Now you will see I rated 5 stars for atmosphere. The building is old, the facility is well used, it is the people that makes this a great atmosphere. So don't think it is 5 star elegant dining, its a very frendly place with good food at good prices.

but as I walked up I knew I was going to be in for a treat because of the aroma of fried chicken. I ended up passing on the chicken in favor of fried pork chops, which were excellent. Good pork chops; good tea; I'm sold. Let's go back.

Biscuit and gravy was a hearty portion and I added two eggs. Husband got one pancake the size of the plate! And sausage, very hearty servings. Wonderful service and it is right on I20.

We had the buffet. Salad was OK. Meat loaf was good, turnip greens was very good, cornbread was very good and mashed potatoes were great! A good Southern meal in a small town family atmosphere.

FL 20 / FL 22 is a long mostly empty road and it was a welcome find for a place to eat southern comfort food.
They do have a menu but also feature the buffet.
Good food, nice place to stop.

We live in Sopchoppy, FL and we’re on our way to Panama City, FL. That’s a two- hour drive so we stopped for brunch at Apalachee Restaurant and we did not regret it. We had the buffet and Daniel does not usually like buffets. This one looked good, he said. It tasted excellent. They had peach cobbler and that’s a tie breaker for him. The fried chicken was hot, crispy, moist. The place was clean and comfy. The service was friendly and polite.
