Wish this place was still open
Very little seating, it's more of a grab n go. Fresh hot food.

I finally found a local family restaurant that offers authentic Filipino dishes that I miss and crave. I will drive from Melbourne to pick up tasty some Pancit from time to time. For me, it's worth the drive from Melbourne to fulfill my Pancit craving. I'm looking forward to trying some of their other dishes as well. When in the area, it's a definite stop. I wish they would open a location closer.
Barkada Bowl - Cape Canaveral - 4.5 Stars By a show of hands, how many of you have had Filipino food before? Anyone, anyone? Yeah, me either, but you can now try it at Barkada Bowl in Cape Canaveral. Tucked away in a teeny tiny spot lays one of the most original experiences you can have in Brevard County. Trying new cuisine can be intimidating, especially if the owner or employees do not speak English. As I walked in I noticed an older Asian lady and a younger Asian gentleman. Immediately I thought "crud, now what am I going to do?" The young man made eye contact and in the most mellifluous voice said, "Welcome to Barkada Bowl. My name is Dexter. Do you have any questions about what we are serving?" At this point, I felt like a total dope as Dexter spoke perfect English and obviously was raised in the States. I laughed at my stupidity and began inquiring about the items they serve. Dexter took a moment and explained all of the fresh, delectable items they serve. I set my sights on the Filipino Bowl with pork belly and received a bowl filled with sticky rice, cooked impeccably, which absorbs the flavors of the pork belly delicately. What adds a real exciting sneak attack is the adobo seasoning. It blends just the right kick with a mellow finish one comes to expect from adobo. The veggies are crisp and fresh, and the bowl is finished with the appropriate hard-boiled egg cooked flawlessly. I have not done any research into the authenticity of Filipino cuisine. What I can tell you is the food here is great, regardless of its etiology. The service is admirable and the owner is a stand-up guy. The Big Boy says, don't be afraid to step out of the box and try some original, fresh, and exciting food at Barkada Bowl.
Worth the trip. Tried all the entrees. The Adobo bowl was flavorful and huge. The bao buns are unbelievably good. Go on Thursdays and you get 4. Beef calderetta has a rich tomato sauce base that is full of flavor. Reasonable prices. Across the street east side of Cumberland gas station.
Got 2 Bistec rice bowls and a halo halo. Very good food and great portionsDefinitely would visit this spot if you want authentic Filipino food
A wonderful, cozy spot. It's the type of place where they focus on a handful of dishes, and do a great job at them. The pork adobo in particular has been consistently excellent. The Filipino dishes they have available change frequently, and if during your visit the day's hot dishes don't speak to you, the poke bowls have been consistently great.
In my experience, Filipino restaurants are quite rare and this one delivered beyond expectations.Adobo chicken was well spiced and flavorful and best of all, fell right off the bone on a bed of rice, corn and cucumber.Bao buns were just as good as they look in the picture. Overall an excellent meal. Would return frequently.
Just went surfing out here and someone at the beach recommended this spot. I'm glad that they did. The food was delightfully delicious. Besides the tasty food, this restaurant is clean, cute, and the people who run it are nice and friendly.

Don't judge a book by its cover! Hole-in-the-wall joint with amazing made-to-order poke bowls! Can't vouch for the Filipino food, but it always looks and smells delicious! Mostly take-out, with a couple of tables and a couple of bar stools along the front window. The Cape has an amazing selection of international cuisines (Puerto Rican, Peruvian, Indian, Cuban, Mexican, etc), and Barkada Bowl needs to be added to your list of must-dos! Eat local!
Great Sinigang but I didn't care for their pancit.
