Columbia Restaurant - Celebration

It was a busy Saturday night so we expected to wait a while. The wait wasn't too bad. Our waitress, Angela, was very prompt and knowledgeable. We ordered the 1905 salad. It was the best salad I've ever tasted. My wife ordered the stuffed grouper and enjoyed it. My Bambino steak however was a bit of a disappointment. I asked for medium-rare and it was more to the medium doneness. It was very tough for a NewYork strip. Angela asked if I wanted another but I had already finished much of it. They compted the steak without me asking. I'd go back but would order something different.

I was looking forward to this birthday dinner at Columbia restaurant. I made reservations but the restaurant wasn't even half full. Even though it wasn't busy, we were seated at the smallest of tables up against the curved end of a booth where I had to sit sideways with no room for my legs under the table. I ordered one of the red snapper dishes. The piece of fish that was served to me was very dark and fishy. Not the white fleshed snapper that I'm used too. The Chef should be ashamed of him or herself for having served what should have been cut off and thrown away. The waiter was nice enough but overall it was a terrible experience. Also, the sangria was nothing to write home about either. With so many great restaurants in the area, it's unfortunate that I picked this one to celebrate my birthday.

It's been a while since I dined at the Colombia Restaurant, but it still is as good as ever. We enjoyed the classic 1905 salad and a half Cuban sandwich. Delicious. Next time I may try some of the suggestions my server made. They sounded void as well!

Service was awesome and food delicious. Even though it was time to close I did not feel rush to leave.

We invited friends to join us for dinner as they had never been to the Columbia Restaurant. A good time was had by all and we will be back.

We just love this place. Ordered Palomilla Steak Sandwich and Pollo Manchego and both were prepared with excellence. Our table was waiting for us on time and we enjoyed the outdoor seating. Especially like the permission to bring our dog.

Great venue/ambiance!!! Food excellent. Was quite busy when we got there. Service still great.

You can't go wrong with the Columbia Restaurant. I have eaten at the Celebration and Sarasota location. I have always received excellent service and amazing food. It's a great place to go for any special occasion or just a normal night out. The portions are enough to share, or as I like to do, have left-overs. Although I didn't have a dessert this time, their Bread Pudding and Key Lime Pie are both out of this world. Can't wait for my next opportunity to eat here.
