A usual stop, nice service seems to be under new management. I didn't recognize any of the employees.

Could & Should be Better

We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It wasn’t very busy. The café is clean and nicely decorated. The staff were nice and attentive. Prices were fair.

I had the corned beef omelet which was on special. It was very tasty and quite large. I could have done without the slice of “plastic” American cheese melted on top. It adds practically no flavor and isn’t worth the calories. The accompanying grits were better than average but still needed butter, salt and pepper to give them some flavor. It also came with a nice, warm biscuit. Unfortunately, when it sits on a plate for any amount of time, the bottom gets steamed and goes soggy. We also had the Angie breakfast sandwich. It was quite nice except the bread was a little burnt. We shared a half order of French toast. It was thick, so the interior was soggy. The coffee was nice.

When paying the bill at the cash register, I saw a small notice about a 4% surcharge for credit cards. I didn’t have enough cash, so I paid the surcharge. I do wish that surcharges like this were put on their website and door and menu, so you know up front.

If they could clean up some of the details in the kitchen, this would be a good, regular breakfast stop. But with so much competition in the field, I can’t see going back to check if they’ve fixed the basics.

I have been ordering the Turkey Club at Angie's since 1996. This last Sat I ordered it for the first time at their location on Drew St. Not only was in flavorless, the meat was off. I brought this to the waitress's attention and she, without responding to me, turned tot he other lady there and told her to "handle this" as she didn't have time (or some such). The other lady barely speaks and English and I don't think she understood or pretended not to understand (?). Anyway, I paid for the food, left no tip and left with my uneaten meal on the table.

The usual waitress, Shirley, was not there and I'm sure she would not have let this happen. Rotten smelling meat cannot be served in a restaurant or anywhere else for that matter.

To be fair to Angie's, I have had plenty of excellent tasting food there in the last several months. I usually order the eggs benedict because it is absolutely delicious. Shirley has always been a top-notch waitress. I hope she still works there.

The food was excellent. It is hard to go to a place and find grits that are cooked. Perfect. The cook was excellent. The service was excellent. The waitress was marvelous. The atmosphere is great a small business but big heart and big food. I loved it. Thank you for having me and will be back.

Tried to call in order multiple times and line was busy so I went there, first time there, the white older lady that was a server had a horrible attitude, I asked her what kind of breakfast sandwiches they had and she grabbed the menu threw it down in front of me and walked away with and atttitude in the middle of taking my order. She was so obviously rude that other people at the counter noticed and said what’s her attitude! I walked right out. Have your staff be more friendly or your going to loose business
