The food is 11 out of 10 so far! Only place I found locally that truly fresh squeezes the orange juice in front of you and there is nothing more truly energizing in the morning 🍊
Service is always good, but not spectacular in the atmosphere is clean and safe, but the neighborhood isn’t the best and it’s certainly not slick or totally modern.

First time stop and wanted to try the bakery. Selected this cake and....voila! Lady behind the cashier didn't know the price so a guy stepped in and charged $5.75 for 4 inch so-so cake.
Indeed, there are shady prices---prices should be at each cakes pan and not somewhere hard to see and identify.
Not coming there and saw that someone else had the same shady pricing. Not good for the business.

I’m from Chicago but also live here in Clearwater and come back and forth every so often and EVERYTIME I’m in town I always order. Everytime ive ordered from here it’s been amazing. I always go back to Chicago and tell everyone how much I miss this place the pan con bistec the empanadas everything is amazing! I always send pics in the family/friend group chats of the food and they always say how fire it looks. For the past 4-5 years I have gotten my dad’s birthday cake from here for him since he’s down here in the wintertime as well!! He loves it and is happy everytime. Great place definitely recommend.

I ordered a custom birthday cake from Chef Mabel, Bakery Makel, and my husband picked it up yesterday morning. I cannot say enough about how stunning and delicious this cake was!! From the moment I looked inside the box, I was blown away by the artistry and detail! It was truly a showstopper — beautifully decorated, elegant, and clearly made with care. Not only did it look amazing but it tasted absolutely divine — perfectly moist, flavorful and so fresh. Everyone at the party we had was raving about it and several guests asked where I got it. This cake exceeded all my expectations and made the celebration extra special. I will definitely be ordering again and recommending to everyone I know! Thank you Chef Mabel!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Originally from Miami where there’s a Latin bakery on every corner. This place is the closest to the real thing in Pinellas county. You might find better in Tampa but on this side of the bay this is it !

Ordered 2 Cuban sandwiches a colada and a medium café con Leche. Hole in a wall and it did not disappoint. Cuban sandwiches were not salty and no overpowering of flavors. It was just perfect. Must I say best Cuban sandwich I've had in a very long ti.w and the coffees did not disappoint. Thank you so much will definitely be back around.
Horrible service. Customer service rep was rude. Seemed like they had a bad day. I won’t be going back.

I can't recommend this place enough!!! This is a totally authentic Cuban bakery/cafe. All the breads and pastries are delicious. The cuban sandwich is amazing and served on their delicious fresh baked Cuban bread. There are so many different empanada fillings to choose from and the empanada dough is light with perfectly crispy edges. The colada coffee is also delicious. Oh, and they have fresh squeezed orange juice! Try Bakery Makel, I promise you will love it!!!
