I bought a pastrami sandwich and it was very delicious although to be honest I was very disappointed when I saw the amount of pastrami it had, it was literally just bread, I don't think the amount of pastrami justifies the cost, $10.99. A shame because it tasted good. The tres leche very good. The boy who served us was very friendly.

Excellent hidden little place. There's not many real espressos and pastry and Cuban sandwiches all together around here.

Don't underestimate this small bakery in this unassuming shopping plaza. My go-to is their Cubanos *chef's kiss* just so flavorful and moist! The best Cubano I've ever had around here. Their empanadas are also soooo good. Flaky on the outside, a little fluffy in the breading inside, and the meat fillings are on point! Just be aware that it can get crowded during the lunch rush so it may take a while to get your order, but it's so worth the wait! There are so many other things I want to try since they have a lot of options in their display case. Will be a back!

Bakery Makel is a gem in the middle of Clearwater, FL, where you can find delicacies such as authentic homemade beef empanadas, pastelillos, croquetas and much more! My second best coffee in the day is from Bakery Makel!

Food is good. service is very bad, unfriendly and lack of professional courtesy, at the front it is a young boy running the bakery! I understand is a relative of the Chec, but he is turning off customers. I would not recommended again to anyone . ambience is nothing to write home about it.

I've been there a few times and I'm totally disappointed. The first time I ordered a Cuban empanada and a meat empanada. Super disappointed the "Cuban" empanada was super salty un-edible had to throw it away. The pork and ham were just folded into the empanada instead of being cut up as to fill the pocket and not have to fight when you bite down to not have it come out. The meat one was more than half way empty. The second time I ordered a media noche, the bread was not media noche bread it was super dry and bitter because it was over pressed and the cheese did not even melt. The third time was today I ordered their Carne asada which is supposed to be a Nicaraguan dish and it was terrible! The meat was far from carne asada that meat was not the authentic meat used for this dish it taste like it was boiled and then "grilled" super hard and dry. I could not eat it, it was so hard it hurt my gums when I chewed. The rice tasted like it had been smoked/burned and was clumpy also the beans used were not the right ones and lastly the salad was made using lime the original or traditional salad made is a curtido made with oregano, vinegar, carrots etc. Also yes your prices are subject to change but inform the customer and update your menu prices because that's false advertising... as a customer I want what I pay for, if you are advertising a certain dish as the Carne asada be as authentic as possible and don't sell your customers food that is no where near what it should be and then sell it as if it were authentic that's an insult to the customers who do know better and know that the ingredients used are no where near what they are supposed to be and of no good quality. I've been there 3X and had not one good experience with anything I ordered. Stop taking short cuts in quality and quantity that's insulting! It's like paying for an original and getting home to discover it's a counterfeit... and last but not least the guy behind the counter had an awful attitude. Definitely my last time buying anything else from them.

Food was OK. Place a business is a small bakery. They also make breakfast sandwiches. The one particular thing I noticed once I got home was that the prices that I was charged inside the bakery were significantly higher than what was on there paper menu which I didn’t read until I got home. A piece of cake that was 3.85 on the menu and I was charged 4.25 there. Also, the breakfast sandwiches were 5.99 on the menu but once you got there the price above the register was 6.99 Also, there was one employee working, and there was clearly another person behind the wall busy talking loudly on the phone & not paying attention to the customers that were accumulating while I was there. Definitely not going back there. Did not appreciate the shady pricing.

We are visiting from out of town and were on the hunt for some guava pastries and oh man, did this bakery blow us away! The guava pastelitos and empanadas were AMAZING!! Very kind staff and great coffee as well. Will definitely be back when visiting next time- can’t wait to try the Cuban sandwich and more empanadas!

What a treat this place was! My fiancée and I were in the Clearwater Beach area and were craving some authentic Cuban coffee and pastries. We found the Bakery Makel and they had exactly what we were looking for and then some. We ordered 2 cortaditos, 8 guava pastalitos, and 2 empanadas for only $20! Not only are the prices great, but the flavor and quality of everything was phenomenal. You can tell that so much love and attention goes into what they do, so we have a new favorite spot for when we’re in town. Also, they have Cuban sandwiches as well, so if you want some Cuban staples this is the place for you.
