During the shutdown I decided to go around and find the best BBQ in the area. BBQ Queen takes the pulled pork sandwich award for a few reasons. One, Phyllis, the owner, cook, pit mistress, is wonderful to talk to, two, one sandwich is enough for two people. She even gives two buns. The third is that I do not like vinegar based BBQ sauce, but her hot sauce is the exception, and to say it is hot would be an understatement. Well worth the trip.
Hoping for better - it was ok, but the beans were runny, the Mac and cheese needed salt, and the Bbk sauce too sweet/ runny for me. Nice and friendly though - maybe just needed a little more prep work (chop up the pulled pork more and make those sauces yummy!)Will try again, but just a sandwich instead of the full meal .
Great "take out only" food at a fair price. Ribs were wonderful, tender and very tasty, the vinegar based sauce I chose was perfect.I got the dinner with potato salad and Mac and cheese, both awesome! The Queen is a very nice lady and she absolutely knows her BBQ!!!
