I don’t trust my immune system to Covid so we seek out restaurants that offer outdoor dining. We made reservations for the Beachcomber and I asked to be seated outdoors. I was told to ask for outdoor seating when we arrived. There was no indication that he patio might not be open. Turns out, despite it being a pleasant evening with temperatures in the 70s, it was not. I was prepared to have to wait for a table if the patio was full, or to make other plans if the weather was inclement. The restaurant looked lovely, and we were really looking forward to stone crabs, but don’t count on being able to eat outside or that the management (owner) will honor the expectations set by his staff.

Great experience! We loved the old school vibe of the dining room. We had a fantastic banquette table in the section of the dining room that is a step up, and we loved looking around and admiring the atmosphere. The scallops and snapper were delicious! The baked Alaska for dessert was incredible and huge! I wish I had more room to eat it all, but unfortunately could only get through half. The only thing that we didn't enjoy the was the espresso martini. I LOVE espresso martinis and this one was not very good. I'm not sure how they prepare it, but I think they should revisit their recipe. All in all, a great experience!

Awesome atmosphere. Conscientious & professional staff. Food was fresh and perfectly cooked. We dined here twice with reservations and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Officially our go to spot while in Clearwater beach.

Party of 4 on a Friday night. We arrived early, about 5:15, and the place was almost empty but it filled up quickly. We all had different meals. I had the jumbo shrimp and it was delicious. The others all had fish meals. The service was very good, the prices were a bit high but not outrageous. The place had an old timey Florida feel to it. I'm not sure why so many people have had a terrible time here - we were all happy and enjoyed dinner. The reason for a 4 star - my Old Fashion was miserable. Terrible; Ugh.

RILEY, the bar manager, is rude. Avoid at all costs. She is the absolute worst. Don't waste your money here.

Our server was exceptional, and our meals were VERY good. The biscuits they house make are the best, even took some home. Desert was a very large serving, and good to share. Definitely will be going back, and very soon.

We had dinner there last night. The Dining Room is exquisite, and reminds me of true fine dining from years ago. The piano player was excellent, the food was very good. But what made this an absolute wonderful experience was our waiter Danny. He was so helpful and so pleasant, we could not ask for more. If you eat here, Danny will make your experience much better !

I agree with many other reviewers here in being disappointed with this place. We’ve eaten there for years but it has now fallen from the dining experience it once was. The prices have skyrocketed & are outrageous for both the amount they serve & the quality. This was my go to for the friend chicken but not anymore. $38.00 for the fried chicken dinner is beyond ridiculous when the size of the chicken pieces are so tiny. Not like I used to get here at all. The chicken leg I got the last few times looks like a drummet wing it was so small. The rest of the pieces were the same. Increasing prices while cutting back quantity & quality is a recipe for failure. The mashed potatoes were bland & undercooked. They had hard chunks in the middle. The steamed green beans were so hard I couldn't eat them. The steak was also tiny, chewy & had no seasoning whatsoever. Really, really bad overall dinning experience. The relish tray everyone loved left after Covid & they said it would not be back. In my opinion, they’ve done nothing to regain their local customers. The only thing good about this evening was the restaurant is still a lovely environment. But you can’t eat the environment. I’d say it would be nice place to stop for a drink, but unfortunately the drinks were overpriced as well. Seems they must only be concerned with servicing beach visitors, folks that they don’t need to return again because doing business like this certainly won’t attract repeat local business. I won’t be back & I live on the beach & have been a customer for many years. Sad to see what has happened to a staple restaurant like that.

For a high end restaurant and with their prices, I expected much more. All meals that we ordered that day priced from $38 to $52 tasted like any other chain restaurants in the US or worse. Crab cakes tasted like the frozen ones from a supermarket, fried chicken tasted literally like KFC. Chicken Marsala was robbery and overpowered with wine. Potatoes were watery and tasted like from a box.I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone… just waste your money.
