Caretta on the Gulf

The atmosphere and views here are very nice and the service was amazing. However, the food fell short of our expectations. I had the salmon and could not finish it because it felt like I was just eating butter not salmon. The potatoes served with the salmon were very hard and tasted like they were microwaved not properly cooked. The sushi we had was pretty good though as was the Brazilian bread with pesto.

What used to be the best restaurant in the Clearwater Beach unfortunately turned into something mediocre at best when it comes to food. Both fish dishes we ordered were bland, the Caesar salad was dry (had to ask for extra dressing for the first time in my life), and while the bread basket remains phenomenal and some other dishes were good the overall experience lacked value for the price. Service and the overall ambience are good although we were seated at the table outside right by the door and were freezing from the indoor air conditioner as the staff kept the door open despite being asked multiple times to keep it closed. This used to be our must go when on the Clearwater Beach vacations but will think twice before returning as last few visits weren’t great.

Had a wonderful dining experience while celebrating mom's 65th birthday. The view was spectacular, the ambiance superb, and the food was amazing. The best part, though, was our server Predrag. His service was exceptional, and what you would expect at an establishment of this caliber. It was his recommendations and how he made us feel welcome, brought us some great laughs, and went above and beyond our expectations that made this a truly memorable dinner. We are locals to the area, not just visiting, and would 10 out of 10 recommend and return.

We had the best experience here. The sushi is AMAZING and the views are beautiful. Devin took amazing care of us and was so great with our two little girls!

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday following the good reviews. The food was absolutely average to say the least! I gave 2 stars because my husband said his stake was decent. I ordered sushi rolls and as someone who knows good sushi these tasted the worst I've tried in a while! I had better sushi at Publix than in a restaurant that charges 2x more! Apart from that, my kid's meal had to be sent back twice! My 5 years old has food sensitivities that I explained to our waiter and asked to accommodate. He assured me they would! They didn't! Pizza had some spices in the sauce and even though she only had a bite, she complained it was spicy! I tried it and it definitel had some spices on it! I asked the waiter again if there is anything plain she could eat! He didn't seem very helpful so we ended up just ordering plain pasta because everything else was either fried or had spices on it! I thank God that my kid didn't have any reactions to the food she tried there! Not once during our ordeal with the meal a manager or a cheff came out to ask us what was wrong!
All in all, we paid almost 200$ for 3 meals that were absolutely not worth it!

My husband and I visit the bar here every once in a while. Food is phenomenal. Love the bartenders.

Ok-the ambience, music and view from this restaurant is AMAZING-came when everyone was leaving on a Thursday evening at 840 and it was not busy at all -was told by front desk hostess they could not seat me in a table outside overlooking or view of the water due to late evening reservations even though all tables in that area had been completely cleared out about 15 minutes after I was forced to sit at a bar table inside until I left at almost 10p-ordered a martini and water and was not asked one time to refill my empty water or if I wanted another drink from 840-950p. Waited over 30 min for a wagyu medium burger with Caesar side salad-when order was taken, asked female bartender if it was ok to sub Caesar salad for fries and bartender said of course for a 1 or 2 dollar upgrade-when the meal finally arrived it arrived with some sort of garden salad with all kinds of stuff on it I don’t like (hence why I specifically ordered the Caesar salad as a side)-at first she said the kitchen told her they don’t offer Caesar salads as sides, what!?? Then I said well that’s what I ordered from you and they have Caesar salads all over their menu?? She said she would go talk to the kitchen and did not ask me if I needed or provide any condiments for my burger? I had to go to the bar and ask her for ketchup while she was In deep conversation the whole time with the people sitting at the bar —?‍♀️. Luckily minutes later they agreed to give me a Caesar salad ?…Not once did she ask how the burger was, but thankfully it came out medium and delicious as I ordered ? showed up excited thinking this was going to be my new upscale favorite restaurant on the water to bring family and friends to and wound up in the end disappointed-even had to go to the bar to get my check as I needed to get back to my dogs after 1 hour 20 min later …??‍♀️ this is an expensive upscale restaurant we have to do better guys!

We celebrated my wife's birthday at Caretta during our stay at the Sand Pearl.
Everything was top notch. Our server Fredrick, very professional , and was very helpful with suggestions. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and view of the beach. But the food was amazing. We started with the crabcake and we had the Salmon and the Grouper.
Excellent!
