Food was great. I left annoyed though. We visit on 8/31 around 10am. While ordering I was told they don’t serve egg whites or avocado, which was fine. But a few minutes later, a young female staff member openly joked about it in a sarcastic way while comparing menus of another local breakfast spot. “Maybe they sell egg whites and avocados.” It came across as rude and dismissive, especially since it relates to my son’s allergies. If you’re going to joke about customers, at least wait until they leave.

There’s definitely charm to this local bagel spot, but my visit fell a bit short of expectations.
The bagels themselves were decent, and the place has a welcoming vibe, but I did run into a few hiccups. I ordered a rugelach, which unfortunately was very dry — not the tender, sweet treat I was hoping for. I also requested egg whites, but was told they only do scrambled eggs. It felt like a basic request that could’ve been accommodated.
They forgot my coffee, which I had to ask for again, and the total came out to about $30 for a pretty simple breakfast, which felt steep for the experience.
That said, the staff was kind and the atmosphere is nice. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt — maybe it was just an off day. With a little more attention to detail and flexibility on small requests, this could easily be a go-to breakfast stop

I was not disappointed on my “treat day” visit to Clearwater Bagels! Marco was courteous, patient and polite. While taking my order, of Lox w/cream cheese and an olive pimento bagels. The bagels were delicious! I also purchased a container of olive pimento spread. I will visit again. Oh, Nora helped too! 😊

You can watch the bagels being made!
After leaving a $1 tip on a $5.60 order, I look up at the menu…and they apparently charged me an extra $2 for my bagel and cream cheese. Upon asking how it’s $2 more than their menu prices, the explanation was, we charge a service fee… what a load of crap. Been going there since I was a child cuz it’s a clearwater high staple, and I like supporting family owned local businesses. And this is why chains such as Duncan donuts bleeds local businesses because they focus on nickels and Pennie’s instead of repeat business. A service fee is more than the actual bagel? Ridiculous
