Kobe is a great place to have celebrate a special occasion, Birthdays etc. Tyler our chief was awesome with his jokes. Very pleasant. I would request to be at his table again. The food was so delicious and large portions. My husband who loves to eat had enough to take home for a meal next day. I have enough from my order to have it for 2 more serving. So you get your money worth of food and the reason I mention this due that for us it was a bit pricey but worth it. We both had the Land n Sea. Very family orientated, many families with children. The only thing I would have to say, we are elbow to elbow around the table. We had fun for my husband's birthday and he had never been there. He enjoyed too. Thank you all and Tyler for being an awesome Chief.
We had gotten a drink in the bar before we were seated, and it was nice and cool there, but once we moved to the main dining room it was very hot and stuffy. I realize they have grills going, but it was almost too warm to enjoy the meal. I also felt liked we were rushed through, soup came, before you could finish half, salad came, then the chef, who was super quick to "cook" the food. We were done in less than an hour. We did not see our server to get another drink, let alone more water which we needed since it was so warm in the dining room.
I can't express enough how great the entire experience was. The food was delicious and properly cooked. Servers were attentive. Portion sizes were big. Great recognition for my son's birthday!
Food was good. Another diner at split meal with her child and they gave her same portions as everyone else. I feel like we paid for her meal as well as ours
Excellent Japanese Steakhouse, Great food and everyone was very attentive. Chef was personable, funny and an excellent chef. Highly recommend this restaurant
We had a delicious meal cooked by Chef Michael (the one who wears a mask while cooking). He's the best chef by far that we request him each time we go. Staff was attentive and friendly.
Food was delicious and the chef was very fun. Our server was nice and attentive. The restaurant was entirely too hot, my whole party was sweating. The restaurant is full of hibachi grills but I feel like the ventilation should have been better or they turn the AC down to accommodate all the heat. One person in our group orders a smoked old fashioned and it was obvious it was not smoked and one of the servers kind of argued when we refused the drink. Overall it was a good time but not the best experience we have had, could have been better.
Was not a good experience- the A/C was out- no one attempted to let us choose if we wanted to stay or go- we should have left- but we stayed and sweated it out. No discount or apology or anything from mgmt on issue. Fired quality has gone down too- for me - I do not see myself returning
We have been to Kobes for over 20 years and probably around 100 times. The ambiance this time was ok at best. Server was super slow. The drinks from the bar came out after our soup and were very weak on alcohol, I paid $10 for juice. The chef had the grill too hot and black char from the grill was all over my filet which was over salted and difficult to eat. Portions are getting smaller while the price is going higher. It was my birthday and the server forgot or something and after others at the table had their celebration she looked at me and said "you didnt want one did you?" I never said I didn't. Also, because you guys automatically put the tip on there i feel that some of the servers and chefs dont have to work as hard or care at all because they already are getting money.
My wife and I were celebrating our 23rd anniversary, and we'd never been to a place like Kobe and decided to give it a shot. I'll admit I was somewhat hesitant about sitting with strangers and having the chef throw food at us and stuff, but all the stereotypes were wrong. Our table mates were wonderful, the chef was personable and funny, and never asked anyone to catch a shrimp in their mouth, and the food was absolutely delicious!! It's a bit pricey, so it will probably be a once a year on a special occasion kind of thing, but we will definitely be back!!
Restaurantji Recommends
This restaurant does usually provide good service and lots of food. You should experience it at least once. Best to have a reservation, to cut down wait time for those popular peak hours. And lastly expect to be here around 2 hours.
It had no energy, no fun, it looks the minimum interaction was forced. The salmon and the chicken were not good. The steak and shrimp were good. When they sang happy birthday to us it was like let's get it done...why I have to do this....sirry but you guys used to be so good in the past quality and energy fun part of the place is gone! When he finished doing our meal and we started really eating it was so so so unpleasant he cleaning and making all the smoke right in our faces...horrible!
We've been going to Kobe's twice a year for my kids birthday's since they were toddlers (now 24 & 30, it's the law now lol), and as usual Kobe's did not disappoint! Food was delish, chef & his tableside waiter were entertaining, drinks were consistently replenished and the atmosphere was amazing! LOVE that the manager came to our table afterwards to make sure our experience was good. Rest assured, it was above and beyond!!
We had a birthday celebration and everyone had a good time and thoroughly enjoyed there food.
We've been going to Kobe Japanese Steakhouse in Clearwater for several years now and it's always one of our favorite places. The staff is awesome, and the atmosphere is always so much fun!! It's been a tradition of ours every June to celebrate several birthdays and family. Something we plan to continue!!
