Pete & Shorty's Iowa Bistro

Used to be a great place but it’s gone downhill lately, wife and I also got violently ill from eating their burgers. Will not be returning.

We visited this location for the first time and the food was great, the service was excellent. We had the pleasure of getting Mrs. Tanoy S. as our waitress, she explained everything, and was super helpful with anything we needed, or whatever questions we had. We visited today on a Saturday, and they had a decent amount of other patrons in there, and yet the food order didn’t take long to get from order to eating. Food was great and for the price it was fair, no complaints. I suggest giving the brats and tots a go if you are looking for something for lunch. Also, the little sliders were excellent as well.

It had been a long time since I had visited a Pete and Shorty's. Popped in to watch the Bucs game. Friendly staff and customers, surprisingly not terribly busy. Ordered a Reuben, messy but pretty good.

Terrible management but decent service.

Those burgers were Hot off the grill, soo goood!! Fries and tots were also hot, seasoned and delicious!!!

Brook was very attentive and the appetizer came out hot. The pork shank fell off the bone! Their signature pork tenderloin sandwich was a bit under seasoned but still exceptional.

This is the second time we’ve been here the first time we got the burgers and they were fantastic and we would get them again and come back if I went based on that it would’ve been a five star review.
This time we came to try the fish I didn’t even take a picture of it. I should’ve it was grease soaked. Our server started out as a five very very nice took our orders and never came back out. I ordered a bloody Mary that never came. he brought the bill with the bloody Mary on it then he said he would take it off . I ordered a to go for my son. I don’t think he placed that order either. Update someone else just came around to see if e needed a to go order!!! Very very disappointed
We sat outside because it’s freezing inside and I feel like we were forgotten about. We will definitely do burgers to go but don’t think I’ll dine here again. We will see.

Great food! Pork sandwich excellent, Friday fish fry excellent, prices excellent. A not-so-hidden gem that deserves more love! Great place to watch Iowa/Iowa State football!

We wanted an extreme lone time before any food came out and then my food came out 20-30 minutes or more before the other 2. It was the pork shank that just needed to be plated and it tasted more like a pork roast. Not the real pork shank of past visits. and It wasn't very hot when it came out. I was through eating before their food even came. When theirs came the port tenderloin sandwich was just a pork chop cooked in a skillet and the frys were cold. Worst experience every, nothing like past experiences and I noticed on a Friday night the resturant wasn't full like it had been before. Appeared to be having ongoing problems. I would give no stars if possible, The server was no help.

My dad is visiting from New England (I live in Lakeland), we wanted to adventure to Clearwater and get some fish and chips. This place did not disappoint! The kitchen manager over heard us talking saying we are from New England and he is too! The food was fresh, amazing and the staff is super friendly as well. I will certainly be back to try new things on the menu. If I could give more stars I would!

Dad had the fried grouper plate with fries, I had the blackened grouper plate with fries. So delicious!
