The best Skyline Chili experience EVER!
I cannot thank the Clearwater Skyline Chili team enough for making my girlfriend’s and my 4-year anniversary so special. The manager went above and beyond to help me plan a surprise romantic dinner here — they brought out candles, a tablecloth, and even special cutlery to make the evening feel extra magical. When we arrived, our table was already beautifully set and reserved just for us.
The service was incredibly kind and attentive, the food came out quickly and was as delicious as always, and the entire experience truly exceeded every expectation. Skyline has always been my girlfriend’s favorite restaurant, but thanks to this amazing team, it’s now one of our favorite memories too.
If I could give more than five stars, I would. Thank you, Clearwater Skyline Chili, for turning a simple dinner into a moment we’ll never forget!

After reading all the rave reviews, I thought I was about to discover chili dog heaven. I ordered takeout, stomach growling, imagination running wild; I was ready for something bold, messy, and glorious. The bag smelled promising… but the first bite? Let’s just say the fireworks fizzled before the big explosion.
The chili was decent but didn’t have that homemade mom’s chili kick; the kind that tastes like love, simmered patience, and maybe a little family argument in the background. This version was mild, a bit bland, and felt like it needed a pep talk. The hot dog itself? Just a regular, nothing special hot dog; not offensive, not exciting, just… existing.
To be fair, Skyline nailed the basics. My order was ready fast, neatly packed, and the staff were friendly.. no complaints there. It’s a reliable 3-star spot. Not bad, not thrilling, perfectly fine if you’re in the area and suddenly hit by a chili craving. But if you’re thinking of driving across town for it, don’t …your local 7-Eleven probably delivers the same emotional impact, and you can grab a Slurpee to help you process your life choices.

I have been wanting to try Skyline for quite some time and finally went today for lunch. The restaurant and service were good, but the chili was just ok. I know that regional restaurants like Skyline have unique foods or flavors, so this was different than what I was expecting compared to the coney dogs I grew up on in Detroit. To me, there was a burnt taste in the chili and the dogs were small.

Skyline Chili is a Cincinnati, Ohio based chain that offers a unique “chili” which originated in the city as crafted by Greek immigrants. In Cincinnati, this chili is the dominant fast food with competitors such as Gold Star also serving the same style chili in numerous outlets in the city. Skyline Chili opened its first Florida restaurant in downtown Fort Lauderdale in the mid-1970’s. The chain now has locations in Sunrise, FL, Lakewood Ranch, FL, Clearwater, FL, Ft. Myers, FL and Naples, FL. The chili has a cinnamon spice taste and the staple at the restaurant is the “3-Way” which consists of a bed of spaghetti, topped with chili, and then topped with shredded cheese. Oyster crackers top the whole concoction to create a wonderful lunch or early dinner. The restaurant also has salads, coneys (chili dogs with mustard, onions, and cheese), french fries and Cincinnati sourced ice cream. Delightful alternative to traditional fast food.
