We come to this Portillo’s very couple months and drive over a hour just to eat here after loving it when we moved up to the chicago area and were so excited to see one come to Springfield IL after we moved back home. it’s always such a great experience for the kids but today we were very disappointed the food was not very good at all and the place was so dirty, nothing was filled, straws or ketchup and every table in the place was dirty, there were a lot of workers but no one cleaning up. I had to ask a worker for something to clean one of the tables with just so we had a clean table to eat at. what looked to be a manager was at a table on the phone.

Outstanding experience on May 19th 2025 ..from GM: Jesus Saurez, Mgr on Duty : Barry , Ema employee, another outstanding manager who came all the way to give it to my car, as I had so many things in the hand to carry..I cannot thank enough of him..he is Alex or pretty common name.. I have his picture, but i totally forgot, as i have become really old now..Oldest Asian Indian thickest accent man. Really Appreciated. Here is my take on Portillo's they have a good thing but sometimes I think they are trying to destroy what the original owner worked so hard to be successful at. The beef sandwich is getting more greaser everytime I go there. I ordered a Maxwell St. Polish and got it like it was a Chicago hotdog. I have been begging them to bring back the tamales to the Arizona locations and it falls on deaf ears. I feel like corporate Portillo's don't care about what their customers want. If you can order a case of tamales and they will ship them to you then they can ship them to there out of state locations.

The beef sandwiches are the bomb! There's just nothing like it. I'm so glad they came to the south. I do wish they'd bring back the tamales though!!!!

Great experience and atmosphere! Very unique from most restaurants. They have beer and awesome Chicago Style food. Burgers are amazing. Lots of seating and friendly staff!

It was my first time to visit this place. We need one in either Fruitland Park or Leesburg or Lady Lake Florida.

First time trip to Portillo’s. We were not disappointed. I ordered the Italian beef sandwich with sweet peppers and my partner ordered the Italian beef bowl. She had the sweet peppers and onions on her dish. Both were moist, tender and delicious. During our visit, the manager checked in with us as well as one of his coworkers. Will definitely return.

Overpriced, downloaded the menu online to see what they had and prices, and it doesn't even list the prices. Just goes to show they know they are too expensive and don't want you to know before going all the way there.

This Portillo's restaurant wasn't quite as good as other locations in the area. There was a mixup with mislabeling our mobile order which caused confusion and delayed our order. Once we got our food, the quality wasn't as good as expected. In particular, the onion rings were soggy and disappointing. It definitely wasn't a bad meal, but I would probably avoid this location in the future.

Let me start by saying that I love Portillos, all three of them in the Orlando area. This is the only one that has a free style soda dispenser (cherry coke too). It has a Citrus Tower display inside, and if you sit by the north window you can see the real Citrus Tower.
We've been to this three times so far. Usually I get a hot dog. I love the snap when you bite into them. This last time I got the Maxwell St polish dog. I liked it better than the hot dog. It's bigger and more expensive, but I got to take some home for a second lunch.
When I order hot dogs I get chopped raw onions. The polish dog comes with sauteed onions. That's was much tastier than I thought it was going to be. I hooked to it from now on.

Update
I tried the chili cheese dog for the first time. I was disappointed. It was too beany.
Next time I want an Italian sausage.
Portillos is one of my favorite places to eat (and drink cherry coke). But no more chili cheese dog.
