Hunker Down Lounge

I stopped here just wanting to explore the local scene. Trying to get over a recent breakup. The bar was super laid back and comfortable. I had bud light draft. It was a nice place to reflect and have a good drink. The bartender Rachelle seen I was a little down and talked to me and cheered me up. She definitely missed her calling as a therapist! It was the highlight of my trip. She definitely made me feel way better about myself and was very sincere. And out of every place i stopped to have a drink on my vacation. Hunkerdown hidaway was the most relaxing and best bars. That I have ever been too. Highly recommend the place has a real local feel

This bar is an absolute disaster. The little security guard Preston was completely out of line. I have video of him making threats to head butt my wife. He then got one of his buddies( “guy” in blue flannel) to push my wife and then said”equal left equal rights”. I watched it happen right in front of me and I have proof. He’s very lucky I didn’t see that. When I asked about the camera footage, suddenly the staff claimed there was a “power outage” and the cameras magically weren’t working. Sure they weren’t.

One of their own employees even admitted Preston is known for being reactive, yet this place still lets him roam around like he runs the place. Also want to mention, take a look at his pupils. I’ll let you use your imagination on this one .Management tried to lie and say he didn’t work there, even though their own staff confirmed he did. The amount of dishonesty here is honestly embarrassing.

And if the staff doesn’t send you running, the bar itself will trip you on the way out. There’s a big, obvious hump in the middle of the floor that multiple people wiped out on the same night. They don’t fix it, they don’t warn anyone, they just let people fall.

This bar is a clown show from the staff to the safety. They need a complete reset.

P.S. If you’re wondering why the security guard had blood on his face, all I’ll say is that he went down on his own when things escalated. Draw your own conclusions.

BEWARE! This place hires security guards who threaten to headbut women! I did absolutely nothing wrong. The guy must have been under the influence. His pupils were huge and he threatened to headbut me, I’ll let you take a guess at what I’m talking about. If I could give 0 stars I would. Management, how will you make this right?

My kind of place!

Great bar/alleyway, mostly outside, mostly shaded. Right where Minuteman meets the beach (behind the much more touristy and overrated Coconuts). Live music often, ridiculously early and late hours, and a great spot to hang with locals and tourists alike. Full disclosure: When I am in this area of Downtown CB, I usually hit Beach Shack, just as divey, but directly in the dunes on Cocoa Beach. Still, recommended CB dive bar!

Hunker down is an amazing place can't wait to play there again was our very first show wasn't the best but service and the facility and what people were there was so much fun next time will be amazing we promise but the staff and the venue are already amazing.

Great little hole in the wall bar (southern slang)! My cousin and her husband (locals) took me out for an adult night, took my first Uber lol, while on vacation, and this place was awesome! I felt a little overdressed bc I was trying to get out of my comfort zone and wore a dress, haha. Would have been totally better had I worn shorts and a t-shirt! Next time, Cocoa Beach, I'm definitely coming back to Hunker Down and rocking out ?! The live music was the best and the bartender was great! The lead guitar player came right up to us and just shredded it was a blast! Definitely recommend if you want to have a few beers and have a great time!
