Old Fish House Restaurant

There were two of us in the restaurant. The food was very good. We hadn't had such perfectly grilled tuna in a long time. We really liked that you could put together your own individual combination of fish and side dishes. The service was excellent, and the young man who served us was particularly nice.

The waitress was pretty rude and snappy, but extremely sweet to my child. I got the impression immediately that she did not want to be there or was tired or something. My 4-year-old son ordered first by excitedly yelling out he wanted fish and French fries. I saw the waitress writing it down, but my mother did not and she tried to repeat my son’s order as kids aren’t acknowledged very often when ordering. The waitress cut my mom off and said “yeah, I got it.” Woah. Okay. I was then pretty appalled by how my mother was told to re-read the menu when asked how the fish would be prepared. Why not say in which the 4 ways it could be cooked instead of being condescending? “Re-read the top of the menu for me” takes more time and effort than just listing it off. Yeah. It’s annoying. I’m sure she gets asked 40 times a day. Tried to order a “regular” salad with Italian and was corrected by the waitress saying there’s “garden” or “Caesar”.

The food was super good. I understand that good help is hard to find. She was a little older, so I hope she’s not some kind of manager or an owner. Hopefully just an off day.

What a fantastic place to grab some delicious fish. This place is a little mom and pop restaurant. The owner is wonderful and the staff were great. I look forward to eating here again.

Wow, what a gem! We came here on a recommendation from the concierge of Beachside Hotel and she was bang on. I ordered the platter and it was fresh, not greasy, and hit the spot. Others ordered a fish with chips and said the fish was thick, juicy, and delicious.

A must go spot if in the area.

The best shrimp ever! Everyone including our kids raved about the food. Very attentive and polite service! My kids said the French fries were amazing, the owner told us he uses beef tallow to cook them. The food was very fresh and cooked well. We will definitely be back!

I would not go here if you are Muslim. Went with my parents and mom who wears hijab and got the worst looks from the patrons inside upon entering. And we are pretty used to that stuff living in the south. After not being seated or EVEN acknowledged for a few minutes, we understood the vibes and left. I never cared to write a review initially, just gave it 1 star. But now I see this is a common theme.

Very good food at a fair price. Server (Kelly) with some attitude and very slow food service. No drink refills offered in an hour and a half experience.

We were looking for a smaller local seafood restaurant and found this one on Google. The food was excellent, the owners very very nice people and the atmosphere casual and relaxed. Don’t hesitate to go! Bonjour à nos amis de Suisse et merci!
