Cherry Smash is such a cool spot with amazing ice cream and a ton of antique stuff everywhere. The whole place has this fun, old-school vibe that makes it feel special. The ice cream is super good, with tons of flavors to choose from. Definitely worth a visit!

This place is a coral springs staple. Unbelievably fun Atmosphere with pictures of customers as ceiling tiles and vintage antique toys like a working train, Zoltar machine, Santa, Thomas Tank out front and so much more. Large variety of ice creams, toppings and dishes like sundaes and warm waffles with ice cream. Staff is always friendly.
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. The decor looks like FAO Schwartz inside an Ice cream parlor

This was my first and unfortunately my last time visiting this establishment, thanks to a manager name Carmen Bellassai. Our Girls Scout troop meet there today January 4, 2025 to exchange secret Santa gifts and eating ice cream. We arrived at 12pm and around 1:20pm Carmen Bellassai came and yelled at our troop leader saying that we needed to leave because we had been in the area for over two hours and other individuals would like to sit in the back area. Carmen Bellassai was very unprofessional and rude. Our kids were scared because he was yelling for no reason. The girls wanted to know what did we do for him to treat us so bad. We tried to talk with him and apologize if we did anything wrong but Carmen would not listen and ordered us out. I would have never thought our kids ages 8 to 13 would ever experience something like this at an Ice Cream Parlor. On a positive note, the customer service from the young ladies handling the front was amazing. I recently visited Cherry Smash with my daughter’s Girl Scout troop (a group of about 20, mostly young girls) and had the most disappointing experience. Despite having enjoyed this place in the past, I cannot recommend it after what transpired.
We arrived shortly after they opened at 12 PM and were there for about an hour. The parlor was not busy at all, with only about four other customers besides our group. Out of nowhere, the owner came over to our tables and started yelling at us, claiming it doesn’t take that long to eat ice cream and that we needed to leave so other customers could use the tables. He even mentioned that the section we were seated in could be rented for $100/hour and we only bought $100-something worth of ice cream. "We owe him money".
The situation escalated when we asked to speak with him again to clarify, and he refused, telling his teenage staff to let us know he was "busy." His approach was rude and completely unprofessional, especially considering the majority of our group were children.
The teenage staff, on the other hand, tried their best to apologize on his behalf, which was unnecessary because the owner's behavior was not their responsibility. In fact, they were the only silver lining, as they provided excellent customer service.
If the owner wanted to address our stay, he could have communicated calmly and respectfully, perhaps explaining if there were time limits for the area or offering us a set amount of time to wrap up. Instead, his aggressive tone and lack of basic decency left a terrible impression.
While I’ve had positive experiences here in the past, this encounter was so upsetting that I cannot continue to support this business. The owner should be setting an example of respect and hospitality, especially in an establishment catering to families and children. Unfortunately, he failed on every level.
If you’re looking for a family-friendly environment, I’d recommend finding another ice cream shop that actually appreciates its customers.

Who has the most Christmas "spirit" in Coral Springs? Cherry Smash! Cherry Smash was opened by Coral Springs residents Sal and Sheila Bellassai in 2012 as a way to showcase their antiques. Ever since then it has become a local institution. I have so many great memories of taking my daughter there for an ice cream after class when she used to attend karate down the road.
I don't get here as much as I used to but if you love Chrsitams as much as I do then you are going to want to visit this month. The fun starts outside before moving Inside where every inch is decked out with the most amazing holiday decorations.
After admiring all of the decor it was time to get down to business with ice cream. You can have all kinds of fancy sundaes and they have a large counter with all kinds of candy treats. The Christmas holiday would not be complete without a stop at Cherry Smash.
