I Heart Mac & Cheese

I have not seen a current review. The last one was three years ago.

I ordered a Mac n cheese bowl with chicken and broccoli. I got 4 pieces of small chicken and barely any broccoli. It was good regardless just seems unfair for the price you have to pay for it.

Mac & Cheese is ok. Prices are high at regular menu price for what you get. I would only recommend going for the lunch specials. I paid about $100 for 4 people to eat Mac&Cheese.

There’s a sign that says Ooen Under New management. This new management is doing a horrible job. How is it possible that at 12:00 lunch time they only have 1 person working. The girl Daijah did a great job of being friendly and efficient despite of doing everything herself. She had to take orders, cash you out and make the food. This includes all the take out order for DoorDash. Don’t forget that this was during the lunch rush. The “management clearly is clueless.

Fast comfort food done right. Try the tomato bisque soup! This is a good place for families (kids love it), with friendly service that never disappoints.

I wanted a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. I’ve been thinking about one for days. Arguably, it is one of the most basic home-cooked meals and is excellent when done right, but I did not have the appropriate bread (thick, hearty white, or wheat) or my ideal cheese for this use (American). So I went out to get one from a specialist.

The chain, which I have never been to (because I avoid chains) focuses on build-your-own mac and cheese and grilled cheeses. I went old school — plain grilled cheese on sourdough. I chose the only two “plain” cheeses they had, which were white and yellow cheddar, which do not melt like processed cheese, and cheddar tends to get oily when it melts. They also use butter on the toast instead of mayo, which most diners (and I) use to make the sandwich, which tends to make it greasier.

It's a pretty good result, although I would argue they should have a classic American cheese as an option. The tots are of a seasoned variety; I liked them. The sandwich also comes with a small dipper of their tomato soup, which has basil in it. It's sweet, maybe a bit too sweet for my taste. Panera-esque. I was looking for acidic and salty, the classic flavor profile.

Next time, I might build something more ambitious, such as with bacon or braised short rib. They’ve also got lobster here. The server/counterperson was excellent. I tipped her well.

Update on 6/19/24. I called 8 minutes before closing on Juneteenth Day '24, a Wednesday, only to have an employee answer I Heart's phone but "hang up" on me. Ha ha!

Lobster (Lobstah) Mac 'n Cheese is a good size portion.

Kendrick gave us the BEST service. We weren’t sure what to order and he was very helpful. He patiently took our order and even showed us some vegan options. He was very sweet and attentive to our needs. Give him a raise!! Go Kendrick!!

I wanted to like the food, but it tasted cheap, the mix-ins were sparse and the breaded chicken tasted rubbery and fake. I won’t dine here again.

Ive came to this location 3 times already and the food was filling and they actually dished food out like there feeding humans, unlike today i had such a bad experience with the owner (robert) i order $52.00 worth, part of which was a lobster and truffle mac which had no lobster in it what so ever and gave me a attitude over the phone once i told him about it...maybe the owner just wants to be cheap and not actually fulfill peoples orders, the employees meet satisfaction unlike the owner...its a shame
