Best shrimp cocktail I’ve ever had. A pound of delicious shrimp! Also had the grouper bites and they were so good. Highly recommended for a casual vacation mode dinner. Sit on the patio and watch the action from the fish village.

Great place right on the dock… not on the beaten path and a bit of a local joint… bustling commercial fishing facility with a great restaurant/ bar on the deck… can get breezy on cooler days but they often have live music.
Great clam chowder. Grouper sandwich never disappoints and plenty of cold drink options.. never disappointed with this place.

Kira made our night!!! The food was fresh, the drinks poured just right and Kira was the best server we have had in years! We are all ex- service industry and she blew us away! She memorized every beer as well as the menu. I wonder if the Cortez Kitchen knows what they have? Give her a raise and make her happy because her coustomer service is out of this world. She even brought us bug spray when she noticed us swating bugs away. Can't wait to come back to hang at the beautiful restaurant and have Kira be our server.

This is one of my favorite places on the west coast of Florida. It is part of the old Florida that seems to be disappearing as more and more of our waterfront is developed with condominiums.

The setting is great 😃 it is adjacent to a fish packing house and occasionally. If your timing is right, you'll see the fish being loaded onto semi trucks.

It is set back a little from the bay.

That is actually a benefit because it means there are fewer tourists.

Not that I have anything against tourists, it's just that during the season all of my favorite places tend to get rather busy. I'm not used to the long wait to be seated and so forth.

Cortez kitchen does not get overcrowded during the season because it is adjacent to the water but it does not have a full view of the bay .

I mostly come here for the music and the people. It tends to have a very local crowd mingled with a few tourists. The locals like myself often stay for several hours. Just hanging out and enjoying the vibe.

It's hard to describe what you have to experience it.

One final point. Everyone who works here is fantastic. They work very hard and don't mind if you occupy a seat while nursing a beer and munching on some french fries. If you decide to do that, please be sure to tip them generously. Places like this will not exist long unless we remember to appreciate the people who make it possible. 🌴🌴

This was my first time coming here and I was impressed. Our server Madison was very good and help us with our order. The baskets were large and fresh. The kids loved the fries and my Red Shrimp was great. Highly recommend.

My Daughter and I decided on The Cortez Kitchen for dinner on Tuesday. Hearing that the Fish was fresh caught I needed to complete my quest for finding the best Grouper Sandwich in the area. The youngster decided on the Fish Taco’s. The Taco’s were fresh and a huge portion of two on a flour tortilla. Now to the Main Event. After trying the Grouper Sandwich at 6 local eateries, I’ve come to the conclusion that The Cortez Kitchen makes the Greatest Grouper Sandwich in the area. Served on a Brioche roll, the Filet was well cooked, huge (6-7 ounces) and most likely was caught in local waters today. I’ve eaten Grouper Sandwiches for the past 40 years and wa also a Judge on the Food Network. Run, don’t walk to The Cortez Kitchen.
